Read the thread, top to bottom, here's what I think:

You're looking for problems because you can't be bothered to actually find solutions. Instead of playing without your friends who are at endgame/have quit, you'd rather just wait until SE changed the game to suit your laziness. Yes, it is laziness, I have been in the same boat as you before where the easiest option wasn't available to me so I just opted out of it entirely. For some reason (and I'm not defending the DPS queue times, I also think they're a bit ridiculous) you want to sit in a queue as a DPS and do literally nothing while you wait for that queue to pop. If you happen to have very little time on your hands, maybe your expectations for the content you'll do in a day are set way too high. You don't have to do things in XIV to pass the time in queue, you know - you can play a handheld game, you can read, you can visit these forums, you can visit other forums, etc. etc. You'll hear a giant DING when your queue pops, you won't miss it unless you are completely spaced out.

While I recognize that you've tried PF, I don't think you understand the merits of it or you aren't using it to it's full effectiveness. With PF, you can find 3-7 other people to run the content that you want to run multiple times in succession. This is a million times better than waiting in DF every single time. Even if it took longer than 20-30 mins to find people, it would be worth it. You also have the option to shout for people, you don't have to just stick it in PF and be done. You have to try otherwise you'll just sit there, in a queue, doing literally nothing but twiddling your thumbs. If you do that, it's going to seem absolutely dreadful to you and I completely understand why that would make you want to give up on the game. Alternatively, you can actually put some real, genuine effort into finding people to play with and not expect the game to just let you be as lazy as possible.

If you do decide to stick to your guns and wait for solo dungeons, then that's fine and you'll get that in due time. All I'm really saying here is that if you put a bit of effort in, you wouldn't have to wait, and you'd get to play with other people - which, personally, I find is the drawing point of an MMO.

Also, if it hasn't been said, I think what they did this update the "adjusted algorithm" for queues messed up. Really hoping not on purpose. But people have had various setups just needing dps for things and not gotten one right away, which it pretty much always should. I've noticed in WoD there seems to be a lot less duplicate dps jobs in parties, so maybe that's a part of what they did. It would be nice if they would say what they did, if not in technical terms at least from the perspective of what their goal was in making those changes.

Try finding a Tank or Healer who's about to log off for awhile to queue you into one of those low level dungeons you need to level up, and then they can just leave when the instance starts, and a Tank/Healer queued in progress can replace them. If one doesn't show up, you can just leave without a penalty and try again.

I'm just kidding this would be a very selfish approach.

If you use this method, make sure you're set to 'English' queues only. Otherwise you could be waiting for a replacement for a very long time.

Join an active FC who likes doing stuff together and find yourself a couple of linkshells and maybe even an FCoB static if you're after BiS pieces. Being reliant on the duty finder in any way as a dps job (I say this as someone who's mained DRG since closed beta) is frankly a terrible idea and will have you jumping around rooftops in Mor Dhona for a significant chunk of your playtime.

That is what I was saying in my post, basically expansions get released then it becomes harder for someone to actually do some of the stuff.

Since its a dungeon game by the time more expansions get released, it will be harder and harder to find a party even if you are doing the PF or DF.
I know new people join the game but sometimes not and during those times it will be super slow.

I also remember FFXI around 2006 when flagging up was a nightmare and shouting for members after they messed up the party search.
Problem is the fix came later and I wonder if they are looking ahead before something like this happens in FFXIV.

Id hate to be on the end of the duty looking to beat stuff and nobody is there to help standing around for 2-3 hours that's what will cause people to just quit.
I was close in 2007 till they fixed a few things in FFXI once content slows up super badly I feel like im just paying money to stand around.

If there is other stuff to do and people say go out and do stuff but fail to realize some people have done that and don't wanna do it anymore.

I just learned to save all my job hunt logs until my last 8 or so levels. In between I'd work on exp from the weekly challenge log for fates, and any other that offer exp on completion like giving commendation x5. Then there is the daily dungeon bonus. It's all pacing if the FC or LS doesn't dungeon grind. Aside from that there's the fate grinds and alternate weeks with Leves

Oh god, it's been so long since I had to wait with my flag up looking for a party in IX. Ever since Garliage and the Jungle camps began drying up before wings expansion. Sit and wait sit and wait, zone to avoid agro train. Back to sitting and waiting until a group needed your job. Three kills laiter everyone's to tired to continue and goes to bed. Then it's back to sitting and waiting cause nothing within 15 levels is killable with out a party of some sort for most jobs & is very low to 0 exp per kill. God forbid you hit your first level cap and you need to have it raised via a quest every 5 levels.

Maybe it's time they copy the exact same method from FFXI and bring the TRUST system in play. Or change the dynamic to more Diablo 3 + Phantasy Star Online, any jobs any combination can clear the dungeons. No need for job specific yadda yadda bullshyait. Otherwise this problem will never change, either you like waiting forever, or play tank or healer, or just play a different game.
