Playing with friends will generally speaking solve this issue - as long as some of you are willing to play as tank/healer while others dps.
It's a multiplayer game, not solo, making friends is kind of part of what makes the game actually work.

Pretty much this, all the way. The solo queue thing is there to help people get things done "on their own" and to provide more options to see and experience content (or obtain loot), but there's no direct control over this... and there pretty much never will be, at least until they implement that supposed NPC group for old content that they were talking about, just don't expect that for up-to-date content. The only sense of control that exists with group content in MMORPGs is forming a static or being of a close collective of players wanting to play the games content with you.
