Phoenix Riders <PRide> is recruiting a Tank for t13 farming, savage & Heavensward

Phoenix Riders is currently looking for a tank to join its main raiding group. The group has had t13 on farm for weeks now, and we are currently farming the remaining gear we need. We are also working on savage coil, and intend to start raiding Alexander HM as soon as possible.

Ideally, we would like to recruit a PLD, since we currently have a PLD that will switch to DRK at the expansion, and it is our belief that it is very likely having PLD to main tank will be more beneficial than a WAR + DRK combo. Obviously, the flexibility of going either would be a plus.

Raiding Times and days

• We usually raid Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with the occasional Sunday when everyone is up for it.
• An absence for one of those once in a while is acceptable as long as it is not every 2 weeks.
• We usually raid from 8pm to 11pm UK time / 9 to 12 for France, Italy and Germany

What we are looking for in our raid members

• Consistency in showing up in time, and letting us know ASAP when they will be late / unable to attend (we have a whatsapp group, for that and more)
• Able to focus during the raids -- we usually do 3 hours, with a 10 min break in the middle. If your performance plummet in the last hour it will be problematic.
• Being overall nice to play with. Obviously, everyone has their mood and quirks. We often have a lot of banter in the group, due to the familiarity of our members by now. However, everyone should do their best to avoid stepping too far and actually hurting others with what they are saying, and be able to back off if they do and are asked to. Being interested in loot is obviously fine (duh), as long as you are not a complete loot whore trying to get your hand on every single piece you can.
• Being open to constructive criticism. Our mindset is always to look to improve ourselves, no matter how good or bad we currently are. We have a number of people knwoledgeable in different roles, and we encourage people to discuss everyone's contribution. If a habit you have seems really suboptimal to someone, they will probably bring it up (without being offensive), and if you can't motivate this unusual habit, you will be asked to work on changing it.
• Willingness to meet the hardest challenges of the game, with a smile: we have managed until now to beat all coil turns before any echo introduced to them, despite some major setbacks in the group, and we intend to continue doing so with Alexander HM. In the time being, we aim to progress in savage SCOB and clear it before the expansion. If that seems like a waste to you due to the lack of gear reward, you probably don't have the mindset we are looking for.
• Have access to TS3 and if possible Whatsapp (not mandatory but really preferred as it is our main mean of communication outside the game).

What we are looking for in our tanks specifically

• Curiosity for each fight specifics -- more than any other role, tanks need to know what happens and when. They can't be surprised my movement or adds. Their job rotation is less complex, but they need to be the best in the groups regarding knowing the mechanics rotation and how to handle it.
• Cooldown management: we are looking for people that will think about their CD, and not just react to things. Think for yourself about when to use what, what to keep for emergency, and overall, prepare yourself. If you prefer, there are a number of people in the group that will be happy to discuss it with you and help you plan it for each encounter, but we expect our tanks to start this process on their own, without anyone having to remind them of it.
• A drive to push their dps: Tank and healer dps in this game is not an afterthought, it is a part of their job. We expect our tanks to keep that in mind. This cover many aspects: keeping a bunch of items to respec into str (or stay in there) as long as it is safe to do so (so, almost all the time) ; looking into crafted jewelry to have both str and vit into them (even if it is only some i90 items triple melded to max out both vit and str with no other stat -- the goal is not necessarily to spend dozens of millions into it, but to at least aim at something very basic) or even dps accessories when encounters allow it; and of course looking for any reasonnable opportunity to drop the tank stance

Bonus points

• FCOB unlocked, and knowledge of the fights in there (the more the better). We are willing to teach someone, but if you are really far behind on it, be ready to have a whole lot of information to take in at once, and you will have to impress us that much more for us to be convinced.
• Enjoy theorycrafting (regarding specific classes) and discussing strategy for each encounters.
• An iLvl of at least 125 would be appreciated ; if you are lower, we expect you to put the effort to reach that in the first couple of weeks.
