Upgraded to PS4, but want to switch HDD

    Hi,
so when I did the upgrade from PS3 to PS4, I was given the message that when the main game came out on PS4, I should just keep my beta 2 client on my PS4 and log in normally as the game would still work. This is not the issue, as I have been playing this whole time.

My question is, I wanted to upgrade my HDD and I am left wondering, how am I suppose to put FFXIV into a new HDD?
The reason I ask is that when I go to the PSN store (PS4), it asks me to purchase FFXIV.
Also, I do not have a physical copy like I did with my PS3, cuz it was a digital upgrade.

Am I suppose to purchase a new copy for my PS4?
Mog station reads my account as PS4/PC (I do have a PC account at my brother's place).

    Any thoughts?

When you did the PS3 to PS4 upgrade it emails you a code that you can redeem to get a digital copy of FFXIV and it sounds like you haven't done that part.

Find that email/code and redeem it (on either the PS4 itself or the Sony website is what I did as I don't yet have a PS4) and you should then just be able to (re)download it, assuming it lets you redeem the code still as the free upgrade has now expired...

Edit: If it helps to find the email, I just looked at my email (EU account) and it comes from autoinfo_eu@account.square-enix.com with a subject of:

[Square Enix Account] FFXIV PlayStation(R)4 Upgrade Complete Notification

Yes it'll send the confirmation email to the email u registered the account with.
The code for the ps4 HDD ver should have been produced the moment u agreed to converting to the ps4.
It'll stay there in ur mogdtation account till u use it.
Upon downloading it'll ask u if u r sure u want to download it etc.
Then u proceed to download the game and patches then boot it up and ur ready to play again.

Just clarifying what Yumi wrote, it doesn't actually bind to the physical PS4 machine, but to your specific PSN account (so ideally make sure you use the same PSN account as you had for your PS3 or it's going to get messy!)

So SE isn't helpful saying that it is a Sony code so talk to Sony. :/

Anyway, I tried going to my brother's place and I added my account to his PS4. I went into my library and the main game client and beta version were there. So to my surprise, download option was there for the main client and it worked. Looks as if when I upgraded it automatically added the game to my library for future d/l, without me inputting any code.
*Note that when I upgraded, I was still on the beta client version and stayed with that since there was no need to un-install and install the main client (according SE at the time).*

When I chose the game from the library it reads download and I can even purchase it for $29.99. lol
Normally when you purchase a digital copy, the purchase option disappears, which is why I wasn't sure if I had to repurchase the game, or not, since on my PS4 (at my place) it only gives me the option to purchase because it is already installed.

    So all is good.

Anyway, thanks everyone for your input.
