..is a Rune Fencer, right?
In one of the most dramatic scenes ever (sic!) he uses magic to enchant his blade with fire.
Job confirmed?

Red lotus, a discontinued Gladiator skill from 1.0, was fire element, but npcs still use this ability.
So... probably not. Most likely not infact.
Replace HB into the spoiler tag for it to work. Stupid, I know lol. He could be though, I'd like a DPS that uses a sword and is not a tank.
People keep saying its Red Lotus, but the animation for Red lotus in 1.0 is nothing like the attack illbred used in that cutscene.
The Skill Red Lotus was even used for another mob attack in Bahamut Coil, so the whole attack was probably reconnected.
It's the same thing I thought. I prefer to call him Mystic Knight than a Rune Knight/Fencer though lol. Really hope that class comes out in the future-it's my favorite class.
The cutscene use of an ability doesn't always match the player's use of an ability. He just made it fancy.
But the more likely is that he has his own special skillset because he'll be a boss. much like Gaius van Baelsar had a lot of special sword attacks.
He has Cutscene Power Maximum, an ability that lets him pull abilities out of his keister to match the situation.
Raubahn has the same ability, but it's called "Ionioi Hetairoi"
If you get the reference, you get a cookie.
Not all NPCs are given a precise job. As a matter of fact, most bosses aren't.
Raubhan does not have a job or class (he fights with two swords, so he's no Gladiator, and he's certainly no Rogue), so why would Ilberd have one?
Speculation is fun and all, but calling "confirmed" out of any of this is a bit ridiculous, especially for jobs.
