[Suggestion] An easy fix to high queue times.

Hello everyone! There's something that's been on my mind for a while and I figured I would share it with the community to get their input.

The Simple Solution: Make all dungeons, raids, and anything you use the duty finder for "Cross World" Currently when you hit that duty finder button you are lumped into a pool of people from your server.

The idea is to connect all worlds OR multiple worlds to the duty finder that way people from say Levi and also connect to people on Carbuncle. Even just connecting two worlds together just for duty finder adds 100% more people than there was to start!

I feel like this is something that would be amazing for the community and but can FFXIV's servers handle this? Do they have the technology to do so?

I'd love to hear input on all sides about this idea, maybe someday it will happen! Maybe this thread explodes and catches Square's eyes! At this point it's just the hopeful dreams of a girl but I really love this idea! Let me know your thoughts

They are already cross world. next time you go into a dungeon ask what server they are all from.

Always they are from my server only. I've actually been looking into this for over a month and I have never once found anyone from an outside realm. It's always Balmung

Well then. Your observation lead to a wrong conclusion. It's cross-server within a data centre.

Anyway, if one server has tank:healer:dps ratio of 1:2:10 and another server also has 1:2:10, what would be the new ratio if those two servers merge?

Duty finder is linked to your entire data center. I could see you getting that observation, since balmung has a disproportionate amount of people, compared to the rest of the data center, but it is.

You're from Balmung, the most popular server. Statistically, yeah, you're going to end up with a lot of people from your server since it's the most populated.
And yes, as mentioned, the DF is connected to the data center. This is why you get cutoff from your LS and FC menus when you use it (those are tracked by the server, not the data center)

Also even if EVERY server was added to the DF, it wouldn't chang queue times since the ratios are all basically the same.
The big problem with queue times isn't the number of people in the pool, it's the number of tanks and healers.

I very rarely get people from my server in duties. I don't think it's ever not been cross-server. You're on Balmung, as post above says, so of course you're going to see lots of people from there...it's the most crowded, popular, active server, so it probably has the most people queueing up for stuff.

So the DF will group you up with players from those servers:
Adamantoise, Coeurl, Goblin, Midgargdsormr, Zalera, Balmung, Faerie, Jenova, Sargatanas, Cactuar, Gilgamesh, Mateus and Siren
