AND this is the reason I grinded pvp for a month.
Good luck trying to find another white and blue robe where the blue doesn't overpower the white.

THIS. Oh my god, this. I was so damn excited to look awesome and be able to wear the healer robe in jet black where it wouldn't look like a quilt, and then the day before I got my twine, I see someone with an augmented, dyed one and I died a little inside. I said "well, maybe the jet black will still be actually black..." no. It lightens the black to dark-ish grey and darkens the white to mid-grey. Customizing the color of some of the most badass gear in the game should be just that - customizing it, not making it a completely differently looking and feeling item with 10x less aesthetic value. My gripe is with the Poetics Armor. I Dyed my Poetics Dragoon Armor to try and make it black like my Demon gear from WoD. Well instead the chest area darkens a little (From Dark Navy to full black) where as the white coat tails that I was TRYING TO TURN BLACK were just left this hideous and unapealing grey color that doesn't look good with anything. Wound up Glamoring my Astrum Armor over it which actually did turn black when I dyed it (And looks pretty good with said demon armor)

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.
I agree 100%. I also think if SE were to implement this, they should also add in Grand Company specific dyes as well that can be bought with seals, and it would match any gear you own to that of the GC's color schemes.
Mael: Black, Red, Gold
Flame: Black, Gold, Blue
Adder: Yellow, Brown, White
That way we can furnish any gear to look like it belongs to our designated GC. If at any point you change GC's with the designated dye equipped, the dye will revert back to it's default color scheme until you revert back to the GC the dye belongs to.
Game needs this..
Too many armors are ruined by an ugly, unchangeable secondary color.
