Please, secondary dye areas. Help me not be hideous [DYE SYSTEM]

This game is gorgeous. The characters we can make are gorgeous. But, for the love of Hydaelyn, we need to be able to dye all regions of armor.

Either introducing a secondary dye color to dye the trim, or something like on Woolen Bliaud where the decorative stripes are just a darkened version of the dye color. Even a couple of trim "options" so that I can coordinate better.

"Just dye everything brown, Isondre," you may be saying. "That way it will match the ubiquitous brown!"

Fine, but there is literally nothing I can do with this, my personal hell, Felt Gown:
Nothing goes with both brown AND gray. Something ends up clashing horribly. Please let me dye the collar and/or the underlayer!

I'd be happy if I could dye these all one color:

I know this request has probably been made before, but it is still something we want. Please consider it

We have different options with different dye arrangements. What we need is more options like the Wedding dress where you dye it and the different gear dyes EVERYTHING, one part, two parts, ect. And we need more options for what that accent color is... like I love the Berets, I do, but the offset color on them doesn't go with purple! And the feather! What if I wanted a big fluffy WHITE feather? or maybe a RED feather?

I don't care how more options are introduced so long as we have them.

Yes, exactly, like even if you could just cycle through a few preset accent colors, it would be better than what we have now. And if it's totally not feasible to introduce the option to choose an accent color, I would be happier with the light/medium/dark regions of your dye like wedding dress etc.

It's actually kinda hilarious that they don't.

Or at least don't have a few preselected accenting colors for various dyes. Some gear does, like the Lucis tools have parts that turn similar but different colors to the main selected one.

But it seems like a recent afterthought that they haven't gone back and added to older gear. Likely never will as well, given that we've a new ten levels worth of materia fodder, and pre50 we only spend a few levels in any given piece.

Of course, they clearly can. The new cutscenes show the oasis tunic with a number of different sash colors. Although the red has somewhat grown on me since I got it.

I agree, dye system is a great idea and terrible application.

Most dyable attires force you to dye them to a limited number of colours due to the secondary/tertiary colours.

Example: Crafting coatee/Beret, one which has a dark grey secondary, that will not look good with lighter colour choice.
Exaple: Armors, some look terrible if not left as is or dyed to brown/black or gray.

It would be nice if a secondary dye is introduced, but at least let the secondary colours be of the prime colour shade.

My gripe is with the Poetics Armor. I Dyed my Poetics Dragoon Armor to try and make it black like my Demon gear from WoD. Well instead the chest area darkens a little (From Dark Navy to full black) where as the white coat tails that I was TRYING TO TURN BLACK were just left this hideous and unapealing grey color that doesn't look good with anything. Wound up Glamoring my Astrum Armor over it which actually did turn black when I dyed it (And looks pretty good with said demon armor)

THIS. Oh my god, this. I was so damn excited to look awesome and be able to wear the healer robe in jet black where it wouldn't look like a quilt, and then the day before I got my twine, I see someone with an augmented, dyed one and I died a little inside. I said "well, maybe the jet black will still be actually black..." no. It lightens the black to dark-ish grey and darkens the white to mid-grey. Customizing the color of some of the most badass gear in the game should be just that - customizing it, not making it a completely differently looking and feeling item with 10x less aesthetic value.

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.

The reason we don't and probably won't have secondary dye option is because that would render all current gear pointless. Most 1-50 gear share the same look but the difference is the secondary color.

Bliaud is the perfect example, there are several color options for the secondary dye depending on which one you craft. Felt, woolen, loyalist, etc. Lots to choose from!

But i do wish we had more options like in gw2.

This could also encourage the development of more unique looking armors. The Lord Armor Tank Set is just a Palate Swap of the Mythril Armor Set but it's in a unique color pallet that's not avalable to the player. Even the Pure Black doesn't get the color exactly right and there are small differences in the detailing of the armors too.
