Umm. Anyone else here besides the OP that has decided to continue playing a game they disliked? Yea, me either.I don't know why I still try to play this. All the friends I made are gone, I can't begin to find anything fun or rewarding to want to do. I was hopeful that this would be on track a year later, but most of the aspects that made my blood pressure noticeably rise are still a part of this game to this day. Now they're making chocobos and materia systems before they tackle this lousy UI and the horrible time consuming shopping in addition to making gear repairs incredibly frustrating. Their priorities seem lodged in a rut trying to please people for a small bit of time while the dinner on the table goes cold dealing with restrictions on game play to make sure I'm not having too much fun.
Another thread complaining about the development priorities, etc??
Should've just chimed in on one of the countless other threads. Pointless thread is pointless

I'm sorry that you're discouraged because of the game.
Your absolutely right Ciden. These developers listen to all these insane suggestions made by people that simply are ignorant of the game. Those of us who tried to play it properly, lvling our crafts in conjunction with our rank, can see the true flaws that exist in this game.
Enix needs to go back to stage 1 and finish the game as it was supposed to be originally, not change the little pieces before they even finished getting it to run as intended.
Im refering to many things but there are too many to mention, but summing them up is...
1. Yes crafting is very difficult and very frustrating to lvl, as it stands the reward vs difficulty factor is way off. I do enjoy the difficulty and like the way its going, but there needs to be more rewards. With this lvl of work involved crafting should be the only way to get gear. Its ridiculous you spend 70 hours workin the glow to get a gear then get it in a leve or chest the next day. Also they need MORE GEAR TO CRAFT. As I go through the lvls, Im at 26rank now, i noticed I could make decent gear at rank 15, and now i need to get to rank 30 to make the next set!!! Thats quite the gap, and with crafting being the most tedious and boring thing it eats at you. Ex. Enix should put in rank 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 gear appropiatly matched with your crafting rank. That and along with taking away that free gear would be enough to motivate anyone and make people get that rewarded feeling they desire.
2. They need to take out that "Your armor is not sufficient lvl" or "Your weaver is not sufficient lvl" to craft this item crap if your a, for example, leatherworker. This kind of system is just asking to much at the minimum, and looking at it in the entire scope of the game, its bad for all other crafting classes. If everyone needs to be every crafting class, no one will need to buy anything from anyone and it might as well not be an MMORPG. It would destroy the funness in cordination and monetary system of the game. BUT BOTTOM LINE, ITS ASKING TOO MUCH. Come on Enix, people play this to fight not to craft lol.
I'll leave it at that, those are the two BIG BIG problems with this game with that first one being the major one. Got to remember your reward system needs to be par with your difficulty system to succeed and make people happy.

Same boat. *But we all know only POSITIVE outlooks on the game are the way to go and the tiniest ounce of disappointment is frowned upon heavily, lets all put on our rose tinted glasses and hold hands and pretend everything is right with the world*

Is the UI still messed up? I thought they tightened that up a while ago.I don't know why I still try to play this. - The Menu UI is fundamentally messed up. You look at one menu item and it locks everything else out completely.
- While DOLing, Crafting you can't do anything else, you can't look at your friends list, look at configurations, a macro, linkshell list, journal.. nothing. Once you are in craft or gather mode you are locked out from all other UI options.
- Typing while gathering or crafting is a pain as your chat entree gets wiped constantly from craft/gathering messages/
- Can't swap shells while doing crafting/gathering. So if you want to swap to answer a question real quick, too bad. You need to wait for botany/mining actions to be done or in the case of fishing completely exist out of fishing mode.
Basically their tweaks have been for battle/action bar. Upcoming tweaks like the ability to place macros on action bars, the ability to set job ability sets, the ability to have multiple action bars up at once... again these are tweaks to the action bar, the menu UI still need a hardcore overall.
And FYI just because lots of us complain and are very vocal about the systems we dislike does not mean we hate this game. I love this game, but I hate many aspects that are just badly flawed, rushed, still needing majorly overhauls (Culinarian/Food I am looking at you).

Ah, I see what you mean now. With all of the stuff you mentioned on your list, it does make the AI seem inconvenient. Most of your grievances regarding the UI seem easy to fix, though. Maybe they will address it one of these days.

*looks confused*
I don't think I've questioned your love (or hate) of the game before. Although one thing I noticed about the folks who are very vocal about the game is they seem to be very confrontational. It's cool to be passionate about something, but if they're going to be smug, disrespectful, and pretentious about it, I don't think it's going to be received well and, probably more importantly, it'll just get ignored. Not saying you're like this, but it's something I noticed from a handful of people so far. But anyway, maybe you got me confused with somebody else who questioned your feelings for Final Fantasy XIV? My evil twin brother? Perhaps my goblin confidant?

There's lots of room for improvement :/ and fixing what is broken should take priority over adding new features. Whatever though, it seems your options are to suck it up or leave (temporarily). C'est la vis.

They can't just drop content for Fixes, or fixes for content. They need to do both. Fixing the UI is not going to bring people back, or keep new people if there is nothing to experience that new UI with. Players who have reached Max rank and done all the quests and missions are not going to aimlessly wander around the realm just because the UI is fixed. they need something to do, and it has to be more then one or two raids(dungeons, whateva).
