Very late treasure coffer spawning during chocobo races. Intentional?

When chocobo racing was new, I'd had cases where treasure coffers would not spawn until I was far past them. I thought it was server lag, but nowadays, Balmung doesn't have issues, yet I keep having situations where I know WHERE the coffers will be, but some of them will not spawn until I'm beyond it.

Sagolii Desert. The 3rd coffer in the alcove will not spawn sometimes, even if I am not going that fast.

Tranquil Path: The coffers before and after the stamina boost pannel will fail to spawn almost all the time for me.

Costa del Sol: The coffer right before the 2nd dash pannel and the final coffer on the boardwalk will sometimes fail to spawn when I'm in the area.


I noticed that if I am very far ahead, the coffers will not spawn and I believe that part is intended. However, I am having specific coffers failing to spawn even when I am with the rest of the pack.

Yeah it isn't lag. Depending on the bracket you're racing in, sometimes you get up to 2 chests that don't spawn in a race. Perhaps it's probability-based and intended.

I'll still preemptively move to that spot hoping it'll spawn. Sometimes it does spawn, sometimes it doesn't.

The worst situation is "you are in the first pos, the chest shows up when you are close, you get a briar/graviball and your pursuer get a hero's tonic ¬¬'." I lost a few match on Costa de Sol.

I hear you there. I had cases where the coffer spawns on top of me and I get the item with no sound effect. Most of the time it's a useless item while the dude behind me gets something better.


And if coffers now have RNG just to spawn, that is going to aggravate me even more.

I would like to know what's with this aswell. I always thought it might of been timed base because theirs a few chests I only don't see if I'm too far ahead of the NPCs. Since, the npcs by time they get their the chests are always up.
