I dunno, never lead me wrong before.
Which bums me out, because it makes enjoying TV, movies, video games, comics, and a lot of books (though not as many as the other mediums) a lot more difficult when you can predict plot developments that happen halfway through the story at around the fifth chapter/episode.
Most of the time it's tropes or cliches, but the adherence to them (or, in a lot of more recent American media, the active need to subvert them to the point of creating new ones) is...taxing.
