PS3 to PS4 upgrade missed but...

Hello there, in February I upgraded my account from PS3 to PS4... without having a Ps4. Don't get me wrong, I was 110% sure about that; I was going to buy one just before the free upgrade time's end. Losing the PS3 version was not a big deal since I main PC.
So I got my code and I was ready to register when some personal and unexpected events arrived, forcing me to delay the purchase to the end of April.
I made a stupid mistake, I am totally aware about that.
So, is there something I can do about this?
Don't get me wrong part 2; I am not here pretending to get my code again, making them restore my ps3 license (it would be great, but if it's not possible no problems) or to get things free. I just want advices about what to do now (buy a ps4 copy? write something to SE? oh, there is a way to play on ps4 without the code ecc.).

only thing i can recommend is wait till you get your PS4 and try the code, there is a chance it might still work. Since you took the code you agreed to relinquish your copy of FFXIV on PS3 for a retail code of the PS4 version. Its like trading in a game for credit but the credit has an expiry date, if you don't use it can't actually come back and say I want my game back. It costs SE to generate the codes (Sony's cut).

If the code doesn't work can attempt to talk to SE customer services and see if there is anything they can do but chances are I think you would be out of luck and need to repurchase for console.
