I've played many RPGs over the years and FF14 is one of the best.

FF14 was already my favorite MMORPG, and I"ve been playing these blasted things since EverQuest when it only had 1 expansion. With the conclusion in 2.55, it's not only re-affirmed its spot as my favorite MMORPG, but shot itself up to one of my top favorite Final Fantasy titles (all of which were within the first 6 ;p).

But I certainly consider my assessment of the game to be subjective. I know others like/hate it to different degrees and for different reasons. But all that's important to me is that I have a blast while playing. All the facts and figures can't change the fact that I enjoy the game.

I love this game a lot. I woudln't dare to compare it to RPGs as this game is MMO and these 2 types are too different but it is definitely the best MMO I have played.
I hope for Heavensward to be even better than whole ARR.

It's my favorite FF alongside FF6, 9 and 12, yes 12 sue me.
I'm 31 and got into RPGs 1st year of high school, over the years I've played hundreds of JRPGs and WRPGs and my list of favorites is huge, I'm glad FF14 is on that list.

Well the story is pretty cool when you look at how you started out as just some random noob to being the hero! I mean i think its the best mmorpg story line i played and i have played SWTOR and thought it was good. Now comparing ff14 to the other FF stories i say its up there......u kinda gotta use your imagination in FF14 a little bit. If FF14 was a single player experience the quests would be more fleshed out and wouldnt be so fetchy type. For instance im sure the raid on castrum would have been more epic in a single player rpg vs the mmorpg. it was still cool though!

Among all the FFs I've played, all of them have yet to beat FF4, my top personal favorite among the FFs. Though I will say that FFXIV is defiantly among the better ones IMO, especially considering I'm not much into MMO's. Heck, among MMO's, it's one of the very few MMO's to actually keep me interested long enough that even the grind treadmill doesn't bother me that much.

The only other MMO's to accomplish this with me so far are Guild Wars and Dungeon Fighter Online, both of which I fell out of, since I make it a rule to try and just stick to only one MMO at a time. Also, in separate details, I simply just... fell out of Guild Wars after the first expansion pack, and Dungeon Fighter Online I had no choice BUT to fall out of it due to the American servers being shut down for a time. I hear it's supposedly come back in full force though. I should look into it.

This is hands down one of the better stories out there and definitely one of the best FF stories. It's a story that is not afraid to deal with death, political tensions between countries and inner conflicts between allied nations, it's an amazingly written and presented story with a much more serious and mature tone than say, FF13 series was for example which I did enjoy but the story was all over the place.

All FF games deal with political tensions between countries. Not sure what part of FF13 wasnt mature.

Your welcome to enjoy what you like, but I see no reason to downplay other games in the process. That's just asking to get flamed.

I am happy to hear it OP. For me it has mostly been a dissapointment in every way, but that is just because my taste is different, not because the game itself is not good. Hope they keep on delivering for all the XIV fans out there and honestly I wouldn't be worried after seeing some of the Heavensward info.
