What do we do now?

I see no point in gearing up anymore since its will be useless in what? 2 months, 3? The only thing really left to do is coil and I can't seem to find a group to do that let alone a good group to do it.

That's the nature of a vertical progression MMO. No matter how many times you gear, that gear will eventually be obsolete. Our gear is supposed to be perfectly fine to level to 60 in, so it's not completely useless.

As far as Coil goes, it should be easier to find a group now that the loot lockout has been dropped.

Level up crafting? I leveled up my weaponsmith and I ended up not making any money unlike people who do clothing.

You need almost all of the cross-class skills to do higher end crafting anyway. Leveling crafters is pretty fast and painless if you abuse the heck out of tradecraft levequests. The same goes for gatherers, actually.

Honestly, what is there to do now?

Edit: I should have said "What do *I* do now" but think everyone got my point and is in the same boat.

I have everything at 50, and I've been at a bit of a loss myself. All I can say is that I'm going to stockpile gil for the expansion and catch up on the crafting I've been putting off. I've had the materials on my retainer to do my last 3 Lucis tools for awhile now, but I've been busy with other things. Now that Coil and WoD are farmable, play catch up with my alternate classes. There's also some glamour gear I'd like from the Gold Saucer, so I'll probably spend some quality time grinding Triple Triad. I dunno, just throwing out some ideas I suppose. :3

First this is FFXIV first true expansion so we have no idea what ilvl you'll need for the 52 dungeons. Second it's not WoW so we don't know if gear will be worthless @ 51, but we do know gear doesn't drop randomly from monsters in the field like WoW. Third it's known that zodiac weapon will carry forward to Heavensward, also you can goof off at Golden Saucer for the next two months.

Yoshida has said that our lv50 gear won't become useless when we hit lv60.

Im playing Dunegon Fighters Online, such a fun game XD. Finally released a english version so that is taking my time now and i will come back to Final Fantasy when expansion comes. Right now im just logged in standing there.

I'm pretty sure that somewhere in an interview Yoshi-P said that our gear will not become useless as quickly as people may expect, so you might still want to gear up.

Nobody would blame you if you took a break from the game, or just come online a short period every day (or every week)...

I'm in the same boat as you, and right now I only come online for some raiding and doing dailies. I might find something to do later on, like level up crafters, or even get another Zeta weapon (even though they will be useless)

Right now I'm waiting for next live letter to maybe get me interested in gearing up another job or something...
