I don't think I'll feel like you until I have my Large House in the Mist fully furnished and all my gatherers/crafts to 3stars/4stars.

Everything is bearable with music

If you only care about battle content, then I guess the long term goals would be to collect all the extreme primal mounts, collect glamor gear sets from Odin, collect Dreadwyrm gear if you ever find a good Coil group. I guess that's all.
The game last forever if you take interest in everything it has to offer. It takes a lot of time to do everything related to gathering, crafting and the Gold Saucer.
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/4283524/I see no point in gearing up anymore since its will be useless in what? 2 months, 3? The only thing really left to do is coil and I can't seem to find a group to do that let alone a good group to do it. PvP? it takes 30-40 minutes to get into one. Level up new job? I plan to level up dark knight then play any other dps class and leveling is boring, spamming levesquest just make me fall asleep. Level up crafting? I leveled up my weaponsmith and I ended up not making any money unlike people who do clothing.
Honestly, what is there to do now?
Edit: I should have said "What do *I* do now" but think everyone got my point and is in the same boat.
Seriously??
That's legit.. It happens to people who flock to this game because of the Final Fantasy brand and play this as a first time MMO.. I have a friend who's just playing his alt from the beginning like a week after hitting 50 on main.. It's weird but whatever floats his boat.

This isn't my *main* silly, I keep my other character hidden that I play with cause I don't want people from the forums knowing them![]()
When you see someones glamour with non matching boots
The secret to sticking with an MMO for years is NOT to rely on them providing content quick enough to match your rate of consumption, that's impossible. The constant regular updates Square have provided have been un-paralleled in the MMO space, but if the game is all you play currently they'll still never keep up. Keep your sub running, but take a break and play other games in the mean time and come back when new content is added or there are some dailies you want to do.
I always find that people who end up quitting MMO's and shouting "lack of content" (not that you are, I'm just saying..) haven't really come to this realisation yet and have unrealistic expectations...

Its normal to grind for gear and eventually have upgrades with new content. It also doesnt have to be useless as you can still use it for glamour. I still farm old coil for glamour and personally enjoy doing it. We have almost 3 months till expansion- I personally have too many things I want to do before than lol.

Was waiting for a topic like this to pop up...much sooner than I thought though.
I've think you have been here long enough to know what to do and not do with
situations like these.
That's not even her main, don't always go by peoples characters on the forums.

That's probably her main.

Dang I don't even.. ...What? Part of me wants to know how the OP has managed to play since 2013 and only have an i87-88 Monk job as your only level 50? I guess they unsubbed for a pretty good period of time or frequently. And you don't see a point to gearing up?
I remember seeing somewhere that it was mentioned that if you were fully geared in in i130 stuff that that gear would still be relevant and useful until you reached level 60 in the expansion as there wouldn't really be any better gear until level 60. I believe this is done so that the gear we have doesn't instantly become useless the moment we pick up a white piece of new expansion gear, as was often the case in World of Warcraft whenever an expansion dropped. That uber epic gear you had instantly became worthless in that game. I'm pretty sure Yoshi and team have taken that into account (considering Yoshida is a former WoW player himself) and they don't want that to happen here at least until the new level cap is reached. So that gear you'd be working towards right now (or already have, as most of us active players do) will still be great while you level up to the new level cap.
Either way, how's one to know that unless they actually know her/him. And also, whether you are geared or not or are still working on reaching i130 or your BiS combo (if that's your thing), that gear is still going to be relevant for leveling as I mentioned. Wish I could find the links but I'm not really feeling like putting in quite that much effort at the moment. That's not even her main, don't always go by peoples characters on the forums.

As for whether that's really her main or an alt, it doesn't matter. I don't link my alts personally because it seems silly, but w/e.

Play bloodborne on ps4 while playing triple triad on pc or ps3.
You can now occupy urself with quick TT matches while invading or getting summoned in BB.
I'm doing tht in the time being and its working fine.
Sometimes i play monster hunter 4U while playing TT.
I alternate between BB, MH4U, ffxivarr, LoL, and other stuff.
But hey multitasking isn't for everyone but it does make grinds in ffxivarr a little less tedious.
