    Reinstall to PS4

I originally started with a PS3 playing FF XIV but switched to a PS4 about 8 months ago. I want to install a larger HDD in my PS4 as I’m almost out of space. Will I have to purchase a game CD for my PS4 or can I digitally download the file(s)? also at the time when I migrated to my PS4 I remember all of my classifications were messed up like all the wrong gear will I have to go thru the same thing again?
    thanks...

If you migrated from PS3 to PS4 then you have the digital download version of FFXIV (no disc) so as long as you sign in using the same PSN username after putting in the new hard drive you'll be able to download the game again as it's already in your account.

You will have to redo all your gearsets and settings though sorry. That stuff is stored locally. I've personally never looked at how the PS4 formats it's hard drive, but I doubt it's going to be something simple to move them across

Thanks for the reply. I found on my PS4 HD, Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn file under application saved data that’s 20.98 MB could that be where my gearsets info is stored? If so I can back that up onto a jump drive and transfer it to the new HD. It would save me a lot of time.

That sounds like it and if you can do that then yes I'm guessing it'll probably work! (worst case scenario you could always delete it and redo from scratch if it doesn't?)

Didn't know you could move data like that on a PS4, cool that you can!

Spoke with someone at my local Game Stop and was told that Sony is working on a firmware update so we can play games from an external Hard Drive maybe by the next update.
