You guys are all incredibly whiny.
Why do you want handouts all the time?
Play the game instead of wanting everything handed to you.

Everyone just stop there. It's been stated numerous times by Yoshida that the new jobs ARE NOT GATED AND ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.

Go back and watch the London Fan Fest. It's very clearly stated by Yoshida live on stage that this job is available to EVERYONE INSTANTLY.

Hold on a minute, since Ishgard is a reclusive society locked behind their own gates and no one can go there until story events in 2.55 open the way, how would anyone expect to start there? Also, unless I am missing something, the opening of Ishgard isn't exactlythe opening of a 4 lane highway into the formerly reclusive kingdom, players gain access 'personally' by completing certain deeds to aid Ishgard, so how would a player who hasn't made nice with Ishgard contact the guilds for any of the three new jobs? I'm not sure how easily you could retcon something plausible to allow acess to those guilds and their training without first making nice with Ishgard.
Those interviews are all from last year though. The interview the OP quoted is more recent, and them too had initially been given different information about the jobs (you can see it all in the quote, the "original" answer). So it's very possible that SE simply changed their mind.Everyone just stop there. It's been stated numerous times by Yoshida that the new jobs ARE NOT GATED AND ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.

All job quests are in Ishgard. Not job unlock. The job's available right out of the box.
How can the job be available right out of the box if you cannot journey to Ishgard to talk to the guild NPCs to start the job in the first place? Right out og the box with ARR you can 'start' as any of the basic classes, not jobs, but you can't do much without talking to the guild master for that class. So ev3n if you could start the job "right out of the box" how would you progress it? Job skills are typically tied to job quests after all.

It's been stated that ALL players have access to enter Ishgard if they have the expansion. To do anything related to the story will require 2.55 story to be finished. Nothing has been stated that you can not advance your job quests without 2.55 story finished.
New jobs are not coming out of the box at level 1. They're still an undefined level and already giving players a very big head-start.
The Job unlock is usually and initially a job quest. It makes no sense for them to let you play a job, but bar access to the NPCs so that you can get skills, none at all. We will probably find out in a little over a week during the live letter, but I highly doubt that they would separate them as such.
The exact same way you got your CE or preorders. The second you log in, you get things delivered to your moogle giving you access to everything RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. The game from day one has already been handling things this exact same way.
The new interviews have said absolutely nothing about how to unlock the jobs. They're only saying to advance jobs, you must do it in Ishgard.
