I recall when it was announced that the sleep or /doze emote wouldn't be allowed in Eorzea proper due to the fear of suggestive screenshots and the commotion about it then is much the same as it was now. I believe the very first response picture was two female Miqo'te using the /stretch emote to simulate kissing as an example of what is already in the game. I just find the whole thing hypocritical.

After all, you can already glamour your character to be entirely nude thanks to the Emperor's equipment purchasable in Mor Dhona which I'd like to think is far worse than walking across two characters clipped through each other using the /doze or /sleep emotes. But the surprising thing here is...

I played a MMO called Scarlet Blade (though iirc, it had a different title in its early release but later renamed due to an anime or something) that is an erotic MMORPG by nature (the plot and character models surround the idea of sex and allows your character models to be nude - though no actual sex occurs in the game) and when you compare its innuendo's to the ones found in FFXIV it's surprising to see more of them in FFXIV and how they're more blatant as well. Based on the gear, glamour, innuendo's via the NPCs we come across and their overall reactions to in-world developments, FFXIV is already more adult than Scarlet Blade (just using this MMO as an example) with the only exception being you can't actually cause your character to be truly nude in FFXIV.

    tl;dr
The game is adult-orient enough that using /doze to actually lie down somewhere outside of your personal room in a house that you may not even own at no fault of your own should be not restricted.

...Though I'd love the option to toggle off the ability to see character models - but not for reasons of not wanting to see what other people are doing.
