Suggestion: Remove "lying down emote restriction"

I'd rather not. Last thing I want to see is Miqo'te females laying on the floor with miqo'te males /sitting behind them to imitate sexual intercourses (beds preventing that by forcing people to sit on the edges, and even if they didn't, I don't mind people doing that stuff inside their homes. But beds out in the open world or worse yet, everywhere? No thanks). People have already enough ways to offend my personal sensibility as it is in this game. I'll vote yes to the OP's idea only if it comes with the option to cancel other people's characters from my screen completely.

Bluevann has reason, but I'd appreciate it a lot if SE could at least let us lie down on sofa in houses, especially for people who love taking a nap on sofa after reading/working or those who prefer a sofa bed to a normal bed...

So if you perchance were to see two young people (or people in general) irl making out or being intimate in public are you going to march right up to them and demand they stop? I mean, you're free to do that and all, but if they want to do that you aren't going to be the one to stop them from continuing.

Most people would just ignore it if they didn't want to see it, by looking somewhere else or not paying attention to it.

You aren't going to stop people from doing silly things in the game either just because you don't like it. I'm sure some juvenile people will go crazy with it at first and do exactly what you said, but after a while they're just going to get bored of it and stop doing it as much or altogether since it serves no purpose to them, except maybe to tick people like you off. In which case, people like you would merely be fanning the flames of the fire instead of ignoring it and letting it burn out on it's own.

Meanwhile everybody else will use it likely as it's intended, to place you character in a laying down position for a number of reasons. (Idling/afking, taking screenshots, and role-playing)

No, I simply look away so I do not see them. Which is equal to what I'm asking in my post. Plus, you have to consider that IRL people are a lot more reserved and polite than they are on the internet. I have never found myself in a place where I have happened to see a couple do anything more than a kiss. If you did, I guess you live in a place different than my own. I'd appreciate if you did not assault me for what is my own personal preferences for decency. I'm not asking anyone to change what they do for me. Only for options to defend myself from what others do without hurting them. Unless you think me being unable to see you on my screen hurts you, because you want to be seen and are doing something that I repute offensive with the purpose to be seen and offend, because only someone like that would care if someone filtered them out.

And you. Yes, I do. For reasons that belong to my own, personal real life and childhood, I have grown to be asexual and have developed a rather high sensibility and repulsion towards anything sexual related. I do not engage in sexual intercourses, I do not watch it, I do not seek it. If I'm watching a movie and something of that sort happens, I change channel or look away. I'd appreciate if you took a moment to breathe and think that perhaps there are serious, and maybe tragic reasons behind a person sensitivity, before poking fun at it. Again, I did not ask for an option to stop people from doing what they do in the game. Only to help me not see it. It wouldn't hurt them would it?

In either case I appreciate both of you for taking the time to feedback my post.

Back on topic, I'd really like some alternative poses for /doze. I have characters of all races and genders, and some of them really do not look like what I want to give when I roleplay. Miqo'te female's doze comes to mind. Give us something that makes us look like we actually sleep, please! >_< I know I saw a miqo'te female NPC sleeping in bed in Forgotten Springs.

I fail to see how you can't just ignore the action in the game, yet can ignore them in real world situations. I see hundreds of players every day when I log onto the game, and occasionally there are folks being silly with emotes and it's pretty darn easy to ignore them if I want to. It's not causing me any problems because it's a game. There's that neat little thing the ESRB puts on every MMORPG these days "Online Interaction Not Rated" because you can't restrict what players do unless it's actually harming the game itself, or those people are being abusive in their actions toward another player.

You have the option to simple ignore it, and barring that if it offends you so much, can choose to stop playing. Seriously. You want a toggle to make everyone not appear in an MMO? That's laughable. Truly.

I want to know how it is hurting you to see players doing the things you mentioned in your OP. Answer: It doesn't hurt you at all. It's a GAME. If you're taking silly actions in a game that seriously then I think you may have other problems that need attending. That or online gaming may not be for you, because those kinds of things can and do happen in any MMO that has emotes. Hell, people can type out explicit things if they want to already if they are serious about this ERP stuff.

It's also not as if you're going to see naked character models (close to it perhaps, but not fully naked), since that's not what this game is like. Players can already act out sexual things with already available emotes anyway if they want to.

I just don't get it. If you don't want to see it, then just ignore it. The same principle applies in real life as it does in an MMO in this case. ...I just don't understand what is so hard about ignoring players in a game. You can already use the blacklist if you are offended enough so that nothing a particular player does text-wise will show on your screen. But you're saying the virtual character doing something in the game offends you so much you just want to turn character models off?

I can't get behind that. It's a stupid idea in my opinion. You might as well be playing an mmo on your own private server as you seem to want to take the MM and RP out of MMORPG.

That way you can be nice and sheltered and have kittens farting rainbows with sparkly ponies flying all about in cotton candy clouds, because everythings perfect in your la-la-land.

I said that I wouldn't mind it long as there was a way to filter it off-screen for people who do not want to see it. That is all.

Besides i have yet to hear a single good argument as to why laying down needs to be restricted when other emotes can be used for sexual activities aswell.
