Expansion gear - new classes/jobs

I have no intention to lvl up a tank or healer class currently, but will try out the new Dark Knight and Astrologian roles when the expansion comes.

I have accumulated several PAL/WHM pieces throughout the course of my gameplay and would like to know if SE has mentioned if these pieces will be usable with the introduction of Dark Knight and Astrologian.

Knowing this would encourage me to get the pieces I need now that WOD is unlocked, otherwise I will turn what I already have in for seals.

Any input?

Considering that tanks and healers have never had distinction unless the gear is AF I would say it's a far bet you can use tank and healer pieces on DRK and AST. Making an entire new ilvl1-130 gearset for the new jobs isn't really feasible... But would be cool if it offered more glamor options... But you'd still have typecast gearsets.

So then it's a green light on accumulating more healer and tank gear. Mastery level inventory management here I come.

They stated that gear would be going through an overhaul in 3.0.

I wouldn't spend too much time stockpiling gear as I highly doubt they will change stats on existing items - only new items going forward.

I'm just trying to keep items that will benefit me as I lvl up, not for end game stats.
