Have a /p <provoke> <just used it> macro that's separate from Provoke but right next to it on my cross/hot bars.

Usually don't have to use it, Ifrit Ex though it can come in handy so the other tank knows and doesn't drop that rage of halone just as I provoke > BB or RoH myself

Plus (and this is very big plus ) without macro - skills are queued, you can press every skill 0.5s before GCD off or before end of animation of current skill (Instant) and game will begin queued skill without delay after. Macroed skills must be play AFTER GCD off or actual skills animation ends. This is important for overall DPS (for GCD skills) and special technics (like for playing 9 skills in Berserk). Or simply - for playing without constantly mashing buttons/keys

Xenosan's method with Provoke above is very good - macro is for info only, skill is playing separated.

With my cross hotbar setup I was lacking a bit of space and needed to either remove an ability or combine something (or some things). All I really needed to do was combine Thrill of Battle with Convalescence, which seems to work well for me. I simply put no delay in the macro and I hit the button twice to activate both abilities (usually).

I don't play WAR in Coil though, so that macro is really just to still have access to those abilities which I use simply to give the healer a break. Outside of crazy mistakes they're not even needed (since WoD/ expert dungeons are the most intense things I play as WAR).

Thrill of Battle is 2-situational skill: 1. before big hit to increase HP buffer; 2. in low HP situations
Playing Convalescence with makes sense in situation 2 only, but honestly ToB or Conv alone shoud be enough. If it is very bad - better option than ToB+Conv is Holmgang. Or 2x Inner Beast (IB, Infuriated, IB) - this gives HP return from hit and 20% mitigation wihout healer.
WAR can restore HP, in situations in dungeons where healer is dead I play IB as often as possible, Bloodbath is on and I just play combo with Storm's Path (HP restore + 10% mitigation), when HP is very low - Second Wind/ToB, then in the end - Holmgang. In most cases this allows kill boss.
Skills on WAR are very specific (very situational) to combine in one combo. WAR is not Pally, where most skills are for mitigation only and can be combined (PLD dont have "self heal" abilities).
I play on PS4 and arrangement of crosshotbar took me a lot of time (and many corrections). I dont use macros, but use 2 skill sets and crossbar enhanced mode + addditional hotbars to monitoring cooldowns of important skills.
