Other melee has Invigorate, tanks - not. Fracture, playing constantly, has very high TP cost. And BRD when play songs, lower his dps. Playing songs for WAR only not calculate in overall party dps. In my opinion - good way is save TP with non-esuna'd-Pacification and playing Flash (if available) instead of Overpower (both gives same aggro level).
I meant about making aggro when in Pacification. One (and only in my opinion) good reason for removing Pacifiaction effect is tanking (which means doing mechanics or making aggro). When pacified WAR can play Flash (for aggro/mechanics) or Brutal Swing (mechanics), then is not need for removing Pacification. PLD in my party usually has TP problem long before me.
You don't need macros on war. The only "macros" I ever used since starting the game I took off.
1. Berserk - "pwease clear my pacification" - By the time they do, it's just about over with anyhow.
2. Brutal Swing "I jes stunned!" - 9/10 times Brutal Swing is being used to add to DPS rather than Stun. There's not much content to stun anymore.
3. Doubleling up on abilities - Like Convalescence/Mantra... Bloodbath/Berserk. Again.. just not worth it.
4. Provoke + Tomahawk - used it alot in the beginning, but it's more beneficial to seperate the two so I can do things like finish a Butcher's block combo directly after a Provoke.
There is no need for Macros on War, unless you just happen to be doing something that communication helps for.
For ex.. Ramuh I use "pick up orbs " "don't touch orbs" macros to help people know when to collect an when not to.
Outside of that, every content I do that communication is a must I just use teamspeak for anyhow.
This is why I mainly don't have a problem with pacification, it helps me generate TP within those seconds.Pacification is very good for TP regeneration, WAR can play Flash/Brutal Swing if needed. If u can play 9 skills in Berserk, then Pacification start exactly with GCD and u miss only one GCD skill.
Every macroed skill dont go to game's queue system, so I dont use any macro. Wrong. I use one macro to change fifth cross-skill (macro change crosshotbar, hotbars and cross-skills) and use it out of combat
Don't use macros.
The macro for Provoke is useless. If you need a tank swap, the other tank know when you are going to use it and will see the ability animation.
The macro for Berserk -> Pacification is useless too. If you have a bad healer in party, the macro is useless. If you have a good healer in party, you will get a esuna/leech without saying anything (if he/she can do it).
Only macros I've ever used on my war is for berserk. Not because I want esuna but to warn the team I can't attack for 5 seconds. And if the healer can esuna it off, good. If not, I'll just wait.
But general macros for tanks I certainly have Goad or Army's Peaon.
I only use fancy macros to add flavour to my gameplay experience.
I was using the old "over 9000" joke back in days with Thrill of battle, when I had less than 9k hp without it >_>
I've never used a macro as a WAR
I might have tried using a marking macro when I was leveling up... but I stopped using it shortly after.
with Overpower/Flash at pull, there should really be no problems keeping the aggro on all mobs.
Did you see my badge? I'm a professional!
You can make aggro with Flash. I always play that - 1 or 2 Flashes (every Flash build aggro like hit with potency of 600, with Defiance *2 - 25% this is 900 potency) and let mana regeneration begins.
Approved.
Provoke is Instant, combo hits - on GCD. And all skill are queued. So, good macro must give info to second tank about 3 seconds before Provoke, before tank will queue next hit. If not, in worst scenario, Provoke gives aggro +1 over second tank to me then, after that, queued last combo skill of second tank will hits and gives +3000 to second tank aggro.
Better than macro is going to second tank position, stack (that gives visual info about swap), wait for 2 or 3 combo skill then Provoke. Second tank will stay in position and move after aggro swap. This is good and safe way.

I use macros for pvp on ps4(hot bar space is limited) for non pvp cross class skills, set it up so feather foot, foresight, and convalescence are grouped under one button, so I can hit it once for feather foot, or 3 times for a quick easy mitigation combo. Also internal release and berserk, hit it once for the crit, or twice for the crit/dmg burst( way I look at it, sometimes I just want the crit, so it's first line, but I never want berserk without the crit)
Pave though, it's best not to use macros, you want to make sure you're using exactly what you are pressing, the gc dis 2.5, but you can only macro whole numbers( 1/2 each action adds up) plus with the abilities on your bar, u have a visual of how long left on CD
