Square just sell us Gil in cash shop so these rmt people get put out of business
This thread is a waste of time.
People are trying to get something more than just bans, if you have played FFXI you'd have known banning the bots in those reports do not work and it is not helping, this happened in FFXI for a long time before they added a filter system.
You are complaining about legit players posting about fixing a issue, yet say quit complaining? flew right over your head.
I can clearly say if you stop Gil sellers with proper filters then there wouldn't be gil to buy.
It can go both ways.
yes buying is a problem as well then start what they did in FFXI making things rare/ex this way we will see a new form of complaining and it will lead to that trust me.
I would rather have the filters before rare/ex happens thats for damn sure.
Rare/ex came first before filters in FFXI and killed half of the games fun factors no more hunting NM for a source of income and RMT ruined half of the game, once that happens consider this game crippled.
how far will they let the Gil sellers get before it happens action first before its too late.
I bet half of the FFXI players forgot what happened to our fun when they let RMT control ever aspect of the game before they started to say something about it.
I just dont want that happening here and once more expansions come and more activities for them to ruin and trust me they will when we have a good thing going and it will no longer be fun you'll be on here complaining also

I don't care if SE is dawdling around with a few meaningless bans that don't come until after the gilsellers have already made their money. SE isn't doing what they need to be doing to stop the problem. Real-time bans would stop it cold. Even some decent filtering could cut down on it quite a bit. Most gilselling and all in-game advertising for it could be stopped if SE was serious about stopping it. They clearly aren't.
As to the question of whether to blame the gil sellers or gil buyers, I blame both, but it's reached the point where I blame SE for it more than either of them. SE is the party whom we're paying money to to maintain this game, and keeping it clear of this harassment is their responsibility. They have the resources to provide a decent level of service and they're not doing so.
which shouldn't even be possible in the first place. A mandatory 5 second delay after sending a /tell before you can send another wouldn't block regular conversations between real players. Or if anyone is concerned that it somehow might, adjust that to saying you can't send a /tell to a stranger (i.e. not Friended, not FC-mate) if you've sent any other /tells within the last 5 seconds.
That alone would mean that a spam bot couldn't message more than a dozen players a minute. Combine that with a reporting tool that's not a joke and somebody actually monitoring those reports as they occur, so the bot can be banned as quickly as it takes to recognize that "yes, that message is RMT spam" and the whole issue would go away. A spam bot that can't reach enough players to find a buyer isn't paying its way and won't be replaced.
Sorry OP, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. First I want to see permanent bans, not temporary. Second, I want the Special Task Force responsible for RMT moderation expanded from 3 Employees to 25-30. There is no time for pause on this issue. I'm relatively new myself & I nearly quit during my trial over the RMT spam. Its unacceptable & by far the worst I have ever experienced in any MMO I have ever played (Well over a dozen). This needs to be addressed with the highest importance like...yesterday. Brynhilder players are still being harassed every minute of every day.
To me, Gilsellers were never a Problem... a little annyoance, not more.
But since about last week, i get Friend Requests en masse... i report, and the moment SE responds (within impressive 5 minutes), i have the next char on my friendlist to report ^^
i mean, just watch the character creations, everything that goes for a Gladiator and is named Djekla Dhrarash or Xiv Div is under suspicion the moment it shows up... because it´s always Gladiators who spam me, must be some sort of creation script
Let´s face it, the impressive Numbers the OP posted are just as high as the acitivity of Gilsellers go...
