As an archer, you will want to stop at level 30 and start working on a pugilist to level 15 so you can get the Bard job because the Bard will improve on the archer class. Also as you level up your archer, you will level your bard.

A well played bard is not support only
Our static we have dpswise like monk->bard->drg->bard on DPS output its all up to playstyle and statsetting (crit>det; minimizing skillspeed is common).
Besides that if you look for a non magical ranged DPS... with Heavensward machinist will be added. Go with archer/bard and try machinist in Expansion

Maybe I'll try to make a character on Shiva, tell me; Is the playerbase on Shiva or Cerberus good for new players? Because usually in games when I join servers, I get told that I have to level alone until endgame and THEN i get help. Which beats the purpose of the game for me, as a gamer and a new player. ^^;

I cannot speak for Shiva as I been on Cerby from start and dont intend to swap
On Cerberus we have a lot of new players all the time and a stable base of social focussed FCs (helping each other is the most important point) which helps a lot with starting a new char.

Altho, by the name of It, It sounds like it uses guns or rifles, which I can't say i prefer over a bow! hehe. But I'll look into it, thank you! ^_^)
