New to the game and in need of assistance! o3o

Herro everyone~ I am new to Final Fantasy:ARR. First a slight introduction on my part, my name is Ryohei. I am 20 years old currently living in Sweden. (Im half Jap & half Swede.)

Anyway. -ehem- As mentioned above; I am a new player and I want to find a good Server first of all, the essence of a MMORPG is its society, community, AKA; people. Alas I wish to find lots of friends and contacts! X3 I don't mind if the server is on Europe, NA or even Japan. Either way, I am surely bound to find some lovely people to play or chat with! ^w^) Suggest me! =D

I will main a Archer because I usually main a Bowman class in games! It would be lovely to find a Guild or a "Free Company" as I think you call it. My Timezone is UTC/GMT+2 (Summer time.)

As an archer, you will want to stop at level 30 and start working on a pugilist to level 15 so you can get the Bard job because the Bard will improve on the archer class. Also as you level up your archer, you will level your bard.

Ohh~I see! ^_^) Thank you for putting that out for me, Xannidel. Hehe. I read around that Bard was supposedly more of a Support-character; but If I wish to be a more,, shall we say; DPS-specific; is that do-able too?

A well played bard is not support only
Our static we have dpswise like monk->bard->drg->bard on DPS output its all up to playstyle and statsetting (crit>det; minimizing skillspeed is common).
Besides that if you look for a non magical ranged DPS... with Heavensward machinist will be added. Go with archer/bard and try machinist in Expansion

Maybe I'll try to make a character on Shiva, tell me; Is the playerbase on Shiva or Cerberus good for new players? Because usually in games when I join servers, I get told that I have to level alone until endgame and THEN i get help. Which beats the purpose of the game for me, as a gamer and a new player. ^^;

I cannot speak for Shiva as I been on Cerby from start and dont intend to swap
On Cerberus we have a lot of new players all the time and a stable base of social focussed FCs (helping each other is the most important point) which helps a lot with starting a new char.

I'm not entirely interested in the whole Statistics; because I play for fun, hihi. But nontheless, thank you for sharing that information with me! ;3 Machinist sounds interesting. ;o

Altho, by the name of It, It sounds like it uses guns or rifles, which I can't say i prefer over a bow! hehe. But I'll look into it, thank you! ^_^)

Welcome Ryohei,

I recommend to look for a server that is active at your usual playtime. I myself am also GMT+2 and as my worktimes are at normal daytime EU server is perfect for me (Cerberus). If that also fits for you I recommend to also pick EU server.
I cannot speak for all servers but to my knowledge Shiva has a huge german population, Cerberus where I am home has a good mix of French, UK, German and all other europe as well as US and AUS players whereas AUS is rare. I prefer this mix

If you come to Cerby feel free to add me or even join Children of Light. We are a free company for all classes and mindsets (raiders and casuals, crafters, gatherers).

Yeah, I was considering doing that at first, I've tried to log onto different regions, Europe, NA, Japan, just to check the population out a bit; unfortunately I did not find any people, which is why i wanted to post here to make sure about where I should make my character on, hehe.
