This was a very tough call for me...I went through each of their shots individually and chose who had the stronger, overall portfolio in my opinion.
Feedback:
Shot 1
- In this shot I chose Sylvie's as the stronger screenshot, as the overall atmosphere was a lot stronger. The image was serene and very beautifully done, where everything just seemed so natural with each other.
Shot 2
- For this one, I felt Raquell had the better screenshot. Her composition was better as well as the overall use of color and tone. The balance of value's were a lot stronger as well, making it really stand out as a beautiful piece.
Shot 3
- This one was tough, but ultimately, I chose Sylvie due to the fact of the creativity of it. She managed to not only use just one, but several npc's to complete her photo. And was able to make her character really belong, even without using the same outfit as the npc's. I thought it was a super creative take.
Shot 4
- Another hard one, but my vote went to Raquelle. Despite the focus being primarily on the beastman, I thought the framing of the sword, the dynamic angle, the colors...all made it a stronger piece. Again, both were good, but that one just stood out to me more. Probably due to it's stronger clarity.
Shot 5
- This one was VERY hard to choose between...but I'm going to have to give it to Raquelle. Reason being, she was able to use the monochromatic feeling of colors to her advantage, and also kept the overall composition of the shot well organized. The camera had a nice balance of objects in the forground, background, while not overpowering or meshing with the foreground. I also thought those poof balls were so fluffy! DEADLY...but fluffy!
Shot 6
- Another tough one. Although Sylvie has a better balance of color, I think the overall composition of Raquelle's shot gives it a slight edge. The different poses add a nice sense of diversity in the shot, with a beautifully balanced background. The shot was also very uniform. Keeping with the winter theme, and using the Shiva weapons was a nice touch.
Shot 7
- This was a WOW moment when I saw BOTH of these! I honestly couldn't decide between them. Both were powerful pieces in their own way...so I give them both a point!
Shot 8
- For this one, it goes to Sylvie mostly for her use of her weapon to frame her face. The shadows and tones also really make her stand out.
So that means...
Sylvie - 4 points
Raquelle - 5 points
Raquelle comes out with the better portfolio for me. It was really really hard as they are both very talented models/photographers.
