Ventures. . .how do I unlock the quest?

Do I need to be a specific class? Only full versions can get them? If thats the case,, I'm most-likely going to buy the game but can someone explain to me how to do the quest?

Ventures unlock sometime around level 20 from a quest called "An Ill-conceived Venture" it's obtainable in each city state and there isn't much to it, the difference of each quest is just in the quest giver and retainer involved race. You only need to do it once, it doesn't matter which city state quest you get.

It should also go without saying you first need to have unlocked the ability to use retainers first before you can send them on ventures too, which is unlocked automatically as part of the main storyline quest 'The Scions of the Seventh Dawn' around level 17, and then have hired at least one from a Retainer Vocate.

But yes, I think you cannot hire retainers on the free trial version, and thus need to purchase the game first before you can use retainers. Hopefully this has helped!

It's level 17 and there is 1 quest per city:

In Limsa Lominsa: An Ill-conceived Venture (Limsa Lominsa) >> Troubled Adventurer in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X9,Y11).
In Gridania: An Ill-conceived Venture (Gridania) >> Troubled Adventurer in New Gridania (X11,Y12).
In Ul'dah: An Ill-conceived Venture (Ul'dah) >> Troubled Adventurer in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X9,Y8).
