It's bad enough that we're all the same person essentially in these cutscenes, but to say that the character isn't even ours? Major fail when it comes to the genre, dude.

I'm not substituting one fault for another expecting it to be an excuse. I'm am pointing out the truth of the matter. Your distaste for it is fine.

But it's been long established that they treat the main story as single player and the multiplayer components are primarily focused around gameplay. MSQ exists in a vacuum and all I'm doing is making sure you take it for what it is, not to make assumptions on things that are not true.

I'm neutral as to my preferences to the story, I have other games in which I have possession of character agency in the main story.

Most of these plot holes can be explained by child-level deductions of the plot queues. There are much bigger holes than most the ones being expressed here that could be focused on.
