    The story not playing out how you like =/= bad writing. Your warrior would have eventually been overwhelmed and been killed or captured and as a Scion they always try to take a path of non-involvement in political affairs/intrigue to avoid a show of favoritism. I guess you would have been happier if your character died trying and you ended up getting to re-roll.

    I mean sure, they could have let us go on a rampage and beat up everyone and save the day, but with nothing really on the line the story would ring hollow as no one ever was in any real danger because they had super adventurer there to clean up.
