Have you ever played any MMOs with stat allocation before? there's no such thing as Ideal stat Allocation, what you're talking about is common builds, but it's impossible for everyone to have the same stats, lets take Conjurer for example, you might think everyone would pour all the points into Intelligence so they can nuke, on the other hand someone else might consider ideal stats to be pure Mind for high heals, I would personally prefer mixture of Intelligence and Mind for medium magic and a high mana pool, I've seen people who like to pour majority of the points into Vitality so they have a higher HP pool and just last out the enemies, I've even encountered a couple people that poured all their points into strength so they can use a shield to block a large part of damage done to them in between spells.

On the other hand, having one large pool for every class is what would kill uniqueness because having one would prevent people from being more creative with their stats per skill and force them of using a fairly universal "all rounder" build or a Magic/War only build rather than doing what they think would be better per skill. with less points to go around, there would be less incentive to be creative.
