Is it worth it to just get the weapon first? I haven't been working on much fending armor for my right side save for the augmented head piece I got. I mostly have Demon stuff on the right. I'm working on a Ragnarok currently. Wondering if I should just skip that and get the axe first. Was thinking the same for PLD.

I'm a bit in the same boat. I finally got tired of my Yagrush and worked on my relic so I'm at Novus. I want to farm light but one tower climb and I'll have an i130 (I have a twine saved up). I'll probably get the weapon and use it for coil and relic everything else so I can farm light. Decisions decisions.

I'm in a similar situation lol. I'm sitting on 75 alexandrite almost and I have a few more books to go. Just wondering if I should bother at all and just get armor and steer the course.

Well the better question is do you have the Poetics sitting around. If you don't it is still 3 weeks to get an Ironworks if you are sitting at less than 400 poetics. Could potentially finish your zodiac by then and zeta is laughable.

Honestly, if you're that close, zeta could be yours in a week and a half. If you already have the Alex to novus, you can start getting nexus lights right away, fix up the stats you didn't want at the time. You can sb during your dungeon runs to make some money, only took me a casual week of grinding to get it. Would have went faster if I was a bit more serious about it. And zeta was a couple days of trial roulette, resulting in my weekly cap on poets through hm primal only. Imagine if I has used bonus windows, how much faster it would have been. Zeta really is a laugh.

Yeah it really comes down to if you have the poetics or not, plus you need a twine as well to upgrade the weapon from 120 once you buy it anyway.

A 130 weapon is a pretty big boost compared to a 110-115 weapon though so it's definitely a worthwhile investment, especially if the stats are well optimized for your jobs respective weapon.

Well right now I'm sitting on 995 poetics, with 25/450 earned so far for the week. Hence my internal debate. My gut says don't do it, and I'm thinking thats right because it didn't take very long for me to finish my Longinus once I got past animus to novus. I'm kind of disappointed they didn't uncap poetics, but I suppose they still need something for people to keep paying the sub until the expansion.

Both the tank weapons are very good. And the PLD sword only takes 7 tokens.

I bought the axe a month ago and haven't regretted it at all.

I'd say weapons for both jobs are worth it unless you're extremely close to getting relic up to 135.
