Who chooses these rewards?
Yeah.. because nothing says Happy Easter! like 4 pairs of earrings.. Yeah, I kinda like the lamp. But I'm lucky enough to own a house which the same cant be said for the other 97% or so of the remaining playerbase so what are they going to do with it?


Square Enix, you're definitely not putting any effort into these events and it shows.

Easter has always been pretty bad though. Last year was rings, before that atrocious helmets. I WILL tolerate lazy holidays this year, since 3.0 production is probably in full swing. More outfits for Heavensward, although I miss cool things like the ghost and valentine costumes.

I AM curious about those lucky eggs, though. It will probably be like the wish bags from ladies day and christmas, but the flavor text about "remain lucky as long as they are uncracked" has me hoping that they might turn into pets or mounts if we don't use them right away. I think I'll keep a few in my retainer for a year, and see if anything happens with them.

You guys do know that most of their resources are placed into 3.0 right? Stop complaining, seriously. Absolutely no need of it.

Bad excuse.
They got 3 months and had many months to polish and do whatever to 3.0...No
reason to have half-ass events when they probably have an event team to do it.

I think one fear is that the decline in holiday rewards coincided with the release of the Mogstation item store. Few new items, but plenty of advertising for items from previous years. While I have my fingers crossed that this IS a result of 3.0 development, the holidays were one of my favorite things about FFXIV and I hope this isn't a sign of change for the future.

I know of other mmos that slacked off on events and claimed "we are putting more resources into the expansion", but after expansion release there were still no new holiday events.

The good news is that SE has continued to show creativity with the event ACTIVITIES. The winter veil activity required the player trees in housing wards, valentine's day was a hunt for npcs with only verbal clues, and ladies day was the first to utilize treasure maps AND community cooperation in completing the dolls. Nice creativity for activities, now they just need the same creativity for item rewards.

I had just finished catching a breath of relief in knowing I can store the hitsuji kabutos and now I get four pairs of earrings to fill those slots back up!

Actually I'm liking these a lot better than the last several event rewards tbh. The earrings are nice, and looks like we've got rings and hats with those designs already so it's like a matching set now, but I'm loving that the lamp is an indoor furniture piece. Means I'll be able to use it rather than have to put it on a retainer in the hopes of one day owning a house xD
