DO you know, that if you were to make *I don't know* outfits from other games, transmog weapons from other games. YOU would make a KILLING. Example

Cloud buster sword
Squall's gunblade
Squall's outfit
Clouds strife soldier outfit or just zach's outfit(Normal soldier outfit)

And so on, Star wars the old republic is doing this and they make a killing people buying their outfits. Even guild wars 2 make tons of money of people buying gems just to buy outfits and transmogrify of weapons as well.

FULLY EMBRACE IT, YOU WILL PULL MORE MONEY, everyone would be like

OP why should our subscriptions go towards funding the development of cosmetics that they can charge us a second time for? Surely you would prefer they find the time to simply develop and add such things with regular updates? Or are you one of those types that actively seeks ways to spend more money than necessary?

Edit: Cause we all know, they can't add everything based off as a event or achievement. Just doesn't pull money that way :P
Also look at ESO, even they changed to this system and even Lord of the Rings did it before they went free to play :P

No, not before they went free to play. Their cash shop was added as part of the F2P conversion. It didn't exist while the game was P2P. Cash shops don't belong in P2P games.

Kind of. There was the Adventurer's Pack around the time the Mirkwood expansion released, not a cash shop item per se but I remember thinking at the time that they were testing the waters, seeing if people would pay for extras, was told to take the tinfoil hat off and then a few months later F2P came in and the cash shop.
