Is /busy making RMT spam worse for everyone else?

I have noticed a correlation between spam getting worse lately and busy being more popular. Of course, correlation does not equal causation, so this is a question, not a statement. If someone is in busy, do gil-spammers still try to hit them and their efforts go to waste, or are they able to tell someone is busy and re-distribute that spam to other players not in busy?

I'd guess it's not worth the effort to design a script to 'skip' busy folk, instead of just spamming down the list.

I just checked... If they use the player search feature, they can filter by status, so more people in busy would mean fewer people to spam from if they use player search.

I think RMT are just being bolder with their spamming nonsense. I came to check if anyone on forums was experiencing zone /shout RMT spam, because it just started hitting my server really heavily. Either the spam filter rules were changed, or the RMT figured out how to bypass them. The only way this is going to stop is if SE starts to manually monitor and immediately ban spammers.

I just have tells filtered out of my chat. I still get the occasional friend request, but I can get party invites from inside the FC/LS.

While I was watching the long CS sequence in Ul'dah for 2.55 I got about 500 friend invites from the same player. Why is a player allowed to send me a friend invite when there's already one pending? I closed 4 dozen or so and it still wasn't going away.
