    Headgear idea

    For my main class or characters I create in games I like to outfit them with glasses ,and I am thankful that in recent patches players were given a number of choices to choose from. However I think it would be a nice feature if we could glamor hats/hair accessories and glasses at the same time.

    I take it that you mean be able to wear glasses with other helms, hoods, circlets and other true "head gear"?

    yes and the ability to wear eye patches too with the headgear you listed just to cover all the bases.

    I think this would be a logical and excellent idea, however without altering the way the character models are rendered to include an additional equipment slot (for "face wear"), I don't see how it could be handled. I'd like to see it somehow added to the game, but given their development priorities, I'm not sure that they would undertake such a change.

    This would be a nightmare to code. There would need to be a separate slot for "face" and "head," of which there isn't currently. And adding new item slots is something you have as a feature in a new expansion.
    Sooo even if they DID decide to do it, it's years away. And they probably won't because it would mean reworking nearly every single item in the game. Especially ones like the BLM AF gear that is both a hat AND an eyepatch.

    I agree that it would be a big change, but they could cut corners a little since they could apply the face gear and head gear in layers and have the head gear layer over-ride the face gear, in effect giving the headgear priority to clip the face gear in order to avoid the less aesthetically pleasing sight of the face gear clipping the head gear. It might not be the most exact way to prevent the clipping issue, but like hidden line removal, it would have the advantage of working.

    Either way, I agree that they are unlikely to do this.

    That could work pretty well, especially is they made use of the 'vizor' option to allow the glasses/eyepatch/whatever to be removed.

    If the face slot of equipment were just cosmetic, and did not carry any actual stats, this would be less of a problem, so long as the head slot has rendering priority over the face gear allowing it to obscure whatever face gear is being worn.

    Whatever the case it would mean changing something fairly core to the character rendering and equipment systems, and like you I don't see them changing it right now (or any time soon to be honest).

    I support this too. Or at least give us more glasdes and hat combinations like the SCH hat and the cone hats except with better headwear that's more stylish... Like the felt hats.

    Yeah, they should've just made "head" and "face" two different slots to begin with (and simply make some headgear pieces (full helms and so) have the "Cannot Equip Face Gear" penalty like how you can't equip arms/legs/feet with Herkladei etc.). I'd love to be able to wear glasses or circles under cowls as well. Sadly I don't see them changing the system now.

    I've been wanting something like this since the bunny crown came out. I have all my classes head gear set as Bunny Crown, But I miss my awesome shades. It would be sweet if we could glamour two in one for certain items. Like a hat and glasses.

    Or a better fix for me JUST ADD VIERA!
