Any chance we could get a new "Legacy-mark" for the pre-Heavensward Event? =D

So, I'm not even gonna lie; I've always been super jealous about the Legacy "Warrior of Light" tattoo, as well as that sweet Chocobo. As we know there is going to be a pre-Heavensward Event of some kind, personally, I would *LOVE* to get something similar to the tattoo, if not the mount. Mostly, just a cool way of getting amped-up for the expansion, but also kind of a mark to say "I didn't get to play the original FF14, but I have something cool to show for playing during ARR".

Now, as for what the reward would be, specifically...? I really don't know. I know a while back, someone suggested maybe a "Meteor" tattoo, since that has kind of be the de facto "Realm Reborn symbol". Or another idea I could see, is maybe the neck-tattoos that the Scions of the Seventh Dawn sport (assuming that isn't TOO important to the Lore).

For something more specifically related to the Battle of Ishgard, maybe an Ishgardian variant of the "Grand Company bardings" for your Chocobo? Or, with the new Collector's Edition getting Cecil's Dark Knight helmet, maybe this even would award you with Kain's helmet, complete with dragon skull?

Not a big deal or anything, it would just be kind of cool to jump into the expansion with something sort of unique, much as pre-ARR players had their own Veteran rewards.

Ehh I don't know. I don't think it needs to be done again, otherwise everyone's going to expect something to be given to them every time a new expansion comes.

Well lore wise, the reason we have said tattoo on our back is because we were branded by Hydaelyn when we entered stasis sleep to avoid death by Bahamut.

Also if you read the description of the black tip chocobos, it says their feathers were charred by the attack when they tried to find us

hahaha, this would actually be funny. It'd be like the Yakuza. "Yeah, you know he's been in for the long haul cuz he ain't got a single square inch of skin left without a mark."

Yeah, understand where players with the Legacy mark are coming from. They didn't come from a successful game with a robust player base, they were players that paid to play a dieing game whose chances of being revived were nil (barring conditions that none of said players wanted to fulfill). The Legacy mark, chocobo and reduced fees are a nod to these players, a, "Thanks for sticking with us there, we hope you will stay to experience what we hope is a better game. Please look forward to it." Heavensward is NOT this thing. It is an expansion to what is very much a successful reimagining of the mess that was 1.0. There is nothing for them to be sorry about, no recompense to be had. If you want a mark to show your appreciation, they you can enjoy the veteran rewards like everyone else. Nothing says, "I was rewarded for staying subscribed." like running around on a fat chocobo or having a little Warrior of Light pose behind you.

Any time I see someone with the Legacy Chocobo, for example, I immediately know "Hey, that guy has been around for a while!", and it's very much a cool status-symbol, because it's the kind of thing you can't just buy. Even though everyone currently playing would probably acquire the new reward right away, in a couple of years, maybe then it, too, would have become a "status symbol" of sorts. Not as cool as the original Legacy rewards, but still *something*, right?

I'm not saying we're owed anything like that, mind you. Just that it would be cool, to have something to mark you as a "Second Generation player".

Maybe if SE shut down the servers to rebuild the complete game again to make a tradition of it?

I'm jealous of the Legacy tattoo, it's so cool looking. It should remain only for 1.0 legacy players characters but I would appreciate S-E adding different tattoo options for the rest of us!

I fixed it a bit.
The tattoo itself have nothing to do with a Legacy account. It only show "this character was created during the old XIV", recardless of played from launch until the shut down or only the first month after launch. It is character bounded, not account bounded.

To be fair the mark does not say "that guy has been around for a while", it say's that guy was there when few people bothered to be. That is what a Legacy mark means, and why it should not be repeated. Im glad you think it's cool but i remember being told by friends and even random gamestop clerks that it was stupid to play a dead game.

Well there's going to be a pre-launch event and events in this game always seem to reward something so I'm surprised this thread even needed to be created... There will likely be some kind of reward for being there. I don't see how this is any different to other events we've had. :P
