Alternate ways of getting moonstones?

Other than doing Ixal quests and turning in stuff for GCs, are there other ways of getting moonstones that I'm not aware of?

In my experience, the higher level the map, the higher the chance of a moonstone drop. My droprate with moonstones from Peisteskin maps is easily over 85-90%, with Boarskin being about 50%.

I have easily done well over 100 peiteskin maps since moonstones have come out, and my drop rate is 10%, if that.

I just started doing boarskins lately, since all I'm really interested in at this point are unhiddens, and I've had around the same luck.

YOu are abnormal. For most, moonstone drops are 10-25%, regardless of map type.

Not as abnormal, or lucky, as having and 85%-90% drop rate.

My friend and I mine 6-8 peiteskin maps a week, then on Saturdays, we run them together. We've been doing this for months.

We usually see 2-4 moonstones on Saturday.

The fastest way to get Moonstones, that I know of, is to make and turn in Madman's Whispering Rods. Not counting the crystals needed, you can gather everything needed to make 25 of them in one game day, assuming you're able to gather stuff from the first level botany Unspoiled Nodes.
