Thread: Chocobo Racing 2.55

The patch appears to have increased chocobo xp by only 20%. I was hoping they had changed xp rates to greatly increase rewards for winning with a much higher bonus for 1st-3rd and then slight increases for 4th-6th and nothing for 7th and 8th (to prevent dead-head grinding).

As it stands, it just doesn't progress quickly enough to give gameplay variety. The variety is there, but since you'll literally have to race the same 3 courses 100 or more times to get to the next track layout, it gets dull. This is a mini-game with only aesthetic items available for winning, so I don't know why they made it such a grind. If it were a single-player game, you'd get multiple ranks up for a single win at lower levels and even at high levels you'd always get a rank up for a first-place win.

The MGP payout is fine as this clearly isn't meant to be a way to farm MGP but is supposed to be fun on it's own. However, the price of Grade 2 and 3 feed is outlandishly high. Placing in first place should give a random grade 3 feed, 2nd should give a random grade 2 feed, and 3rd should give a random grade 1 feed.

What about the MGP? How much do you get from winning at what rank race?

MGP seems to be increased 20-30% as xp was. I'm happy with the changes. Other abilities are more useful now, fair weather birds aren't crippled by rain, and it seems you can't just push your bird at max speed the entire race anymore without consequence.

not sure what it's like in higher racing classes, but in R80,R100 and R120 the MGP seems to be almost doubled, with each higher class giving 24 mgp more for rank1, before it was 12.
Also rewards for rank 8 are greatly reduced. in R120 i get 53 EXP and 35 MGP, before it was 120 EXP and 56 MGP

That would be too much. It's not that hard to reach first place, you would get an insane amount of food this way. Sure food is not cheap, but you shouldn't use grade 3 food on a chocobo below pedigree 9 anyway. 9 ist the chocobo you want to make good.

Grade 1 food for a win would be ok, since you can buy them anyway. Or special food marks you can spend. Anyway, it's around 130k MGP for 50 level 3 food, that's doable.

just got 2 times rank 8 cause of terrible rng, im starting to hate their anti-afk fix :P

It seems it would be better if this reward penalty wasn't just automatically applied to whoever gets last place, but instead applied to racers who receive "Did Not Finish."

So.. the adjustments they made about the regularity of specific items showing up --- I just got hit by 4 meteors in a row. Did they really go ahead and increase the chance to get that...?
