But who would accept something like this? It's like giving the troops of a single (and known as corrupt) general the control over the capitol. And well, the first thing we learn, when we start in Uldah is, that the Brass Blades are "Like common bandits, just less honest". It would be absolutely ridiculous, if one of the other (and kind of real) guard factions of the city (or their leaders) would simply give them the total control.

I don't remember who, but someone (I think it was Ilberd? It was one of the first cutscenes) had proposed it and it went unopposed. Since most were trusting the Braves up to that point, Raubanh most likely didn't even say a thing about it, since he was probably like 'Oh hey Ilberd is my buddy, he won't let anything go wrong, no problemo!'.

The one that that bothers me is that Riol only told to our WoL about the whole conspiracy, and didn't think about telling Alphinaud of all people.

To be honest, Alphinaud would have told Ilberd, whom he trusted, which may have made things worse.

Given what happened to Wilred (I think that's the name), and possibly others...Riol probably thought it was a good idea NOT to tell anyone else affiliated with the Braves about it, lest he "disappear" as well. You were the only one he could trust enough to confide such information to.

Something is actually unclear to me.

As we have seen, the monetarists have don their revolt, maybe the announced revolution is coming.

The Mandervilles are also part of the monetarists. Whats their point? We have seen nobody of them.

Godbert is part of the Syndicate. The Monetarists are a group within the Syndicate.

I think its very unlikely Godbert would be involved in the assassination. Most likely during all this he would be tied up with the Gold Saucer that only just launched. It is one of his pet projects.

As for Mrs Manderville, who knows. She quite likely is tracking her son.

The separation is interesting. The "Syndicate" is called in the german client "Scorpio-Kreis" and i don't remember, that they ever talked about a sub-group within it.

Raubahn is or was part of the Syndicate. The Syndicate is just the 6 richest people in Ul'dah forming a ruling council. The Monetarists are a faction vying for power.

Its worth noting the Monetarists have been around for quite a while. They have been working at this plan for years at least if the Paladin quests are accurate. We know Godbert is only recently become a member of the Syndicate. I think the Monetarists have limits to how much they can control who sits on the syndicate. Being a representation of the rich elite though its likely they can maintain a very strong presence on the council and quite likely influence the decisions of other council members.

I suppose they didn't, but in the wake of 2.5.5 I think it's fair to assume that the Syndicate and the Monetarists are two separate (if connected) groups. During the feast Lolorito tells Raubahn it's forbidden to take out weapons in the dining hall, much less "cut down our fellow Syndicate members." This, and that Godbert and Julyan probably would not support a coup for power, suggests that the Monetarists are just a small group trying to wrest power from the Sultanate.
