Please tell me this has nothing to do with what I'm worrying about... that they are removing lvl sync just like what they are doing on CN servers ;-;

If it was, it would say so in the patch notes. This simply affects matchmaking based on the features we already have for it. The Chinese servers are hosted by Shanda and they made the call to remove the lvl sync, it wasn't SE's call.

Yeah you're right... I really hope so, maybe I was just worrying too much. The official account of FFXIV Shanda ver. on Chinese social network posts their interactions with Yoshida regularly and even a recent visit to JP headquarter, giving me an impression that what they do are all permitted by SE. And many Chinese players see this as an experiment on their server before SE actually decide to apply it for all the servers.If it was, it would say so in the patch notes. They are doing that also because they have to pay by the hour(?) minute(?) to connect to the internet over there. Would you want to pay to wait in a Q for 45 minutes? I didn't think so.If it was, it would say so in the patch notes. This simply affects matchmaking based on the features we already have for it. Really? So higher Ilvl player just can steamroll low lvl content? If yes then I'm hope that we can choose to sync or not, because some veteran really likely to speed run and this is might be their good news. If no option then it will be newbies nightmare.
Yes, but they also lock out of the DF for the whole day if you leave or withdraw (even once). But once again, this is on Chinese servers only (not run by Square). It also means lowbies get no exp from monster kills in dungeons if there's a high level player there.
I really hope this never, ever, happens here. For me, that would be a reason to unsubscribe and go play something else.
That is communism.... Unacceptable if this system applied here, I will quit instantly.
I've never tried that server but guess this lock of DF comes out because of too many leavers at the beginning of the roulettes. Many of my friends there complain about "rage-quit towers" (that's lota or/and ST I guess) but I never get the point... these adjustments make me sure that I'll never go join my friends there.
Yes that's what they mean to "reduce difficulty for newbies": high lvl players steamroll contents to help newbies get drops and gils. However newbies will not be able to get any exp through the whole dungeon if there's someone with a lvl gap >11. And they even wrote this in preview version of patch note: if newbies really want to lvl through dungeons, they'd better use PF instead. I can see nothing but a newbies' nightmare...
