Well this is a Disappointing Patch, but I already knew we won't get any new Contents patch.
So basically, it just unlock all the raid gears and to gears up for Heavenwards. Even though there is really no point in doing that since the gears will get replaced anyway.
Weekly Quest that give Carbon Coat, Twine, and Unident Tomb when FCOB are unlocked so you can get all of those without weekly lockout.
Continue of main story quest and a weak trial and isn't that much interesting. So this just left with FCOB and weekly tower quest is the only contents to do until Expansion hit. There is no ways this will hold people for 3 more Months. I guess this patch finally convince me to take a break from the game until Heavenwards.
They only do it for main patches (2.3, 2.4, 2.5), not for sub patches (2.45, 2.51, 2.55)Err, they used to post prelim patch notes that didn't give away anything that could affect the market (the fact that they have to do that is ridiculous, but hey, people are opportunistic scavengers and do what they can to beat the system), but they messed that up a few times. I'm guessing that's why they're not doing it anymore.

Idk why people are disappointed, we've pretty much known all of what was coming in the patch for a while now... What did you expect, some massive and unknown piece of content? It's going to be the conclusion of the ARR main story, the Ishgard defense battle, full Heavensward trailer at the end of the main story quests, and some adjustments to other content. Imo It's far better for them to continue working hard on the expansion, minimizing bugs and making sure it's at maximum quality than to take invest any more development time for the rest of ARR. There's still plenty people can do to prepare for the expansion... I'm trying to stockpile as much gil as possible while getting the rest of my jobs to 50 so I'll be ready if I like the new additions to some other job I'm not maining atm. If you really don't have anything left to do in the game (or aren't enjoying it) you can always take a break until June.
Seeing as how its "Part II" of a major patch, yes..absolutely. If they said it was some mini patch, then sure..I'd expect this. But the way they were portraying it was as if its the SECOND HALF of a MAJOR PATCH. So now you know why at least one of us is disappointed. Usually patches come with lots of new gear, new crafting stuff, heck, even some open world stuff woulda been nice. But no, this is on par with a mini patch...
