Atma Problem

Ok i know ATMA is suposed to be RNG, but something is really wrong here, i have beem runing ATMA for weeks now, i have the quest complete, use both shield and sword for my PLD, and havent received one ATMA yet. It is more than 300 FATES with no ATMA, every time a friend of mine try to help me he gets 4 to 6 ATMA and i get none. I have read from other players that sometimes a BUG happens that the quest is complete but my char is not flagged for ATMA. Tried calling a GM but he directed me here. PLZ Help...

Starting with the obvious, do you have the Zenith versions of your Sword and Shield equipped?

In order to get the Zenith you have to use that big forge near the guy you upgrade all your poetics gear at. It's a bit ambiguous, to be sure. I don't recall if you need another item in the reforging process.

And just to add, to use the furnace, you'll need 3 Thavnairian Mist. (bought with Soldiery from the vendor in Mor Dhona)

Another thing you need to do a quest beforehand unless you didnt do that one no ATMA will drop ever... and as people above stated you need Zenith (once you have Zenith quest should show up in Hyrstmill)

I had this experience when Atmas were introduced. Yes, I had zenith relic equipped (had all zeniths at the time), and ran around for months without a single atma drop. That was the time I gave up on relics past zenith, because I refused to waste months of my little playing time on something that almost never drops.
Then, came the increased drop rates, and I decided to give it a try. Got all 12 atmas in about 4 hours, 3 times already (for Thyrus, Curtana/Holy Shield, and now Sphairai). Drop rates are now more sane.
So, check the obvious above:
- Do you have zenith sword and shield equipped?
- Did you complete the quest "Up in Arms"? (check your journal under completed quests - sidequests)
- If you have completed it, Jalzahn (North Shroud 30,19, near Gerolt) should have a red quest icon.
I haven't heard about the bug you reported, but I would check if you have the conditions set for atmas dropping.
