People Need to Start Respecting Healers More

I was talking to a friend and he said that tanking from 1-50 netted him 400+ commendations I am a lvl 50 SCH and have almost unlocked everything and am at 160 commendations... I know I am a good healer, so it has nothing to do with that either. I just don't feel like people respect healers as much in this game as tanks and their job is just as important. We keep you alive! Make sure to give us some love every once in a while too.

I am tired of working my little Lalafell booty off, at times depending on swiftcast reviving not once in a boss fight, but 3+ times because people (including tanks) stand in AEO that literally takes half their health away from one hit, and then at the end getting zero commendations. You might as well give me a huge middle finger because that's exactly what it feels like, especially in those cases. Seriously, getting the required commendations I need for the stuff I want is going to take years at this rate.

Why respect healers who don't heal? There are little healers who are healers because they want to be and that want to be the best that they can be. There are more tanks and healers who are just plain awful. Are we suppose to respect awful players just because they are running on a tank or heals so they can get faster queues?

I almost never give comms and almost never get any, and I'm content with that. I think expecting commendations for anything is the wrong way to go about it. It should be a good feeling to get one in the first place, not feeling like you automatically deserved one for playing whatever job you play. But that's just my 2 gil.

I mean if any class actually deserves more respect for being played optimally it's dps because no one ever notices unless everything goes horribly wrong and you have to start taking or something.

I just get them so rarely it's annoying. It's not always easy and I've dealt with some horribly awful groups, most of the time the fault lying with either a) a tank with ego issues who acts like a dickwad, or b) DPS who don't know how to play their class... I find a surprising amount of those kinds when I queue for elite roulette (most of the time they aggro mobs too much and stand in AEO that takes half their health in one hit, causing them to lose health just as fast as the tank, except without as much health as the tank to begin with, subsequently making my job a pain in the ass).

I'm a WHM main - only thing I EVER play. I'm currently sitting at 2370 commendations. Most were made back when commendations first came out. It depends on the content when it comes to getting commendations/ if you've gone out of your way to explain fights/mechanics etc... The fastest way to make them would be running guildhests.

I made a large portion of mine running the hardmode primals before light farming was a thing - no one gives commendations in the trials anymore players are just In and Out.

The early dungeons are where I make most of them these days or in LotA (CT). STill - there are times where I've done beyond my role - (ex: postioining/tankning IG on KB or stunning ifrit eruptions with holy :x). And I'll get nothing. :/ Just gotta suck it up and hope for a new player who might still bother commendating you.

Please sch 50 eos probably got half your commendations. Just like dps though it is easier to see a tank doing decent job. Making sure you finish the dungeon timely, holding hate and positioning.

Commendations have nothing to do with the fact that you're a healer. I only commend people I think deserve to be commended. I'm sure there's a significant amount of people who also feel that way.

However, since Nexus was released there has been a significant decrease in commendations from trails because everyone is rushing to get in, get their light, and get out.

I drop the comms on a DPS usually. As a healer you get fast queues and that should be reward enough.

Those poor DPS can end up waiting over half an hour to get in one dungeon.
