SE, you underestimate your power with the cash shop

DO you know, that if you were to make *I don't know* outfits from other games, transmog weapons from other games. YOU would make a KILLING. Example

Cloud buster sword
Squall's gunblade
Squall's outfit
Clouds strife soldier outfit or just zach's outfit(Normal soldier outfit)

And so on, Star wars the old republic is doing this and they make a killing people buying their outfits. Even guild wars 2 make tons of money of people buying gems just to buy outfits and transmogrify of weapons as well.

FULLY EMBRACE IT, YOU WILL PULL MORE MONEY, everyone would be like

What they COULD do, is have more fun time events and not use
Mog Station for everything and stupid furnishings for the homeless.

They must embrace it, I for one welcome our mog station overlords for any item we want in game.

Edit: Cause we all know, they can't add everything based off as a event or achievement. Just doesn't pull money that way :P
Also look at ESO, even they changed to this system and even Lord of the Rings did it before they went free to play :P

Am I the only one who doesn't want FFXIV to be filled to the brim with references/armour/whatever from other Final Fantasy games? But as to your point, I'd rather they be in game from the Gold Saucer or from Veteran Rewards (wouldn't mind the odd extra mount on the cash shop). Guild Wars 2 doesn't have a subscription fee so they kinda do need to do that to make money.

No, not before they went free to play. Their cash shop was added as part of the F2P conversion. It didn't exist while the game was P2P. Cash shops don't belong in P2P games.
