Well that is your own opinion, seeing that the WoL deafult showed some emotions it gave me relief. Since what happened to him, the same happened to us lol.

Btw guys I'm not sure if anyone asked this before. Did anyone notice that there is a traitor on the Temple Knights? Thats the reason why Iceheart was able to trespass the bridge and break the shield.

Ilberd isn't Gaius. He's just a complete bastard. I wonder if Wilred's murder will come back into play at some point. For those that remember Wilred from 2.0, I have a feeling Gundobald is going to be pissed he was murdered. That could end up providing us allies against the Monetarists among the Ala Mhigian resistance.

Ala Mhigo was taken after been drastically weakened by a psychotic king who destroyed the Monk order and in the end was randomly executing people daily. Weakened and without leadership the Garleans just rolled in with little resistance. In this regard, Ul'dah isn't in the same situation as Ala Mhigo but a civil war could result in the same situation.

See my post above yours. Its taken from Square-Enix's website under Threats > The Black Raven. Gaius was the one who caused all that, it wasn't happen stance and luck, it was subterfuge. That's being said I don't think Ilberd is Gaius...not yet anyway; but if their is a tie in I have a feeling that would be that Ilberd ended up being a spy and a high rank Garlean soldier close to Gaius and assumed control of Ala Mhigo (since it was Gaius's troops stationed there, and since Gaius's death Ala Mhigo hasn't been freed due to lack of a ruler); using knowledge gained from Garlean war tactics he infiltrated the Crystal Braves and is helping cause unrest in Ul'dah in an attempt to take over the city much like in the same manner of Ala Mhigo. All guess-work of course though as it hasn't been said in game or through lore.

So are we saying that Gaius had the ear of the King of Ruin or drove him mad or are we saying he just took advantage of it to seize control of the country? I admit my knowledge just comes from the monk quest NPC Eric.

Gaius actually influenced the civil unrest (destroying monk order, public executions, etc) the exact 'hows' are not told to us yet (if ever) but it was more than likely the use of bribing important people onto his side, using spies to start threatening rumors, etc etc, to make the King paranoid and psychotic to basically destroying his own defenses.

I hope the story for heavensward not only takes our character to a different place in more ways than location, I would like the multiple choice responses back. I didn't like how they were omitted during 2.55 final scenes, I felt taken out of the story, and not in a good way.

The story and where it takes my character means more to me when I have to be one of their actors.

On the discussion of Ilberd being Gaius I would like to think this is true simply because I can't imagine any other normal person (unless possessed by an ascian like Lahabrea which clearly wasn't visible in Ilberd's case) other than the warrior of light taking on Raubahn solo and winning.

One thing that does puzzle me is if Ilberd was Gaius and the one behind turning the populous against their king in Ala Mhigo, surely Raubahn would of recognised him as the traitor of ala mhigo in the first place other than his "brother" Ilberd. But then Raubahn isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer as he seemed oblivious to every single plot until it was too late anyway.

One other thing that lies in the favour of it being Gaius is that he found out about the Garlean Spy, Eline very easily it was almost as if he KNEW she was a Garlean spy and essentially used her as a scapegoat to allow him to further solidify his leadership of the Crystal Braves. also getting rid of her as she is likely to of been the only person that could of possibly identified him as Gaius and blowing his cover.

Furthering on from this Gaius loved the Ultima weapon and put all his resources into this in an attempt to take over eorzea in one fell swoop. So upon hearing about Omega and the monetarists aiming to dig that out of the ground it makes further sense for him to infiltrate and get his hands on a new shiny weapon for his garlean empire. I could forsee a repeat of what is about to happen instead this time its Gaius and Omega instead of Ultima.

For me, 2.0 "season finale" was simply amazing. Yes, they are plot holes here and there, but well that is not deal breaking for me.
FFXIV has indeed delivered to me some memorable moments and has some TRULY AMAZING cut scenes.

The whole Nanamo deal is understandable. Imagine if they BLOCKED us all from Uldah? it would be correct. So as long as they have some reasonable explanation for it im fine.

I am very excited to see what Heavensward wil bring

    neutral
    no expression
    emotionless
    lol
I just discovered a way to make the Warrior of Light less neutral, no-expressioned, emotionless. When you get the chance, type /grin.

    Or /angry.

    /furious.

    /annoyed.

    /happy.

    /taunt.

    ...Well, it COULD work.

Well, if we could do it in cut scenes, which would be a nice feature.

Wish there was a way to alter the length of it, like a macros' /wait command.
