"Tanking" or crashing is a legit strategy if you are chasing out newcomers from your market and/or establising your dominance. People who complain about undercutting are usually the people who get a small amount of item, usually one of some value, and then want to get as much as they can for it. Nothing wrong with that. Multiply that and you have a threat to specialists in their little niches and they will react accordingly. Price cutting is one said tactic as well as flooding the market to take care of people who try to buy you out.. Controlling certain mats to increase prices of certain end products.. etc..
