Everyone's just like, "you suck" "no you suck", everyone's trying to find out who is the bad guy, who the hell cares.
Blame the newbie, blame the farmers, blame the little midget who kicks you in the shin and steals your biscuits, it doesn't matter.

You make a choice, you live with it.
You party with people who are running a dungeon optimally and want to skip everything, suck it up.
You party with people who are fine with waiting so you can watch cutscenes, congratufuckalations, no one cares, enjoy your pissy cutscenes and make the most of it.

Now can everyone just shut up? You're all terrible, game over.

I really do suggest searching for a FC. It'll be worth the trouble in the long run.
Also the kind of stuff you described I would definitely write a report on that kind of healer.

For new players I do think it's not too much to ask for basic knowledge in the end game fights but if you're new and just doing normal dungeons you should absolutely be able to ask if there's anything you should know about that fight right then and there on the purple line.

This goes to all the players out there but be nice when you give advice and be humble when you receive it. I learned how to play this game by healers literally telling me how to tank. I didn't get angry about it I just listened and learned to adapt. Healers NOT raising to prove a point are not doing THEIR job and as such I find this unacceptable and I would just quit in a dungeon like that. (and report, remember abuse is report-able!)

And I'm not really encourage any FF fans to come here for better game community.

Except that nothing went down the way he says it did. He paints himself a wonderful victim, much as in his whine about why he doesn't recieve coms and how healers should be repsected. (Hint: Don't auto pilot your fairy and move out of aoe from time to time).

My reason for replying to OPs thread is because I was there, I saw what actually happened and for better or worse his version is false. Instance starts (Battle at the big Keep). Protects and SS go up, no words from him. Tanks pull enkidu and Gilgamesh, NOW he says "I'm new". That's it, those are his ONLY words. I give advice about tethers and how to possibly advance past the chicken phase. We drop that phase of the fight and move into the next room. Still no new words. He's in his cutscene and tank pulls, everyone else is there so the fight begins. Now there's words. He flat out rages about disrespect, how you should treat new people etc etc. I comment that he talks alot and should heal more. His response was to type more..get hit by multiple easily avoidable aoe and when his health is at 1/4th he gets bound and dies to a dot. Then rampages more about how everyone let him die and that it was everyone elses fault. At this point -why- would I raise that? He's contributing nothing but ire to an otherwise perfectly reasonable group. When the BLM dies, yeah I raised him because the BLM was contributing.

My thoughts on DF, Cut scene watching aside...if that's how new players are going to be then they dont' deserve any kind of respect or acknowledgement. You can't lean on being new and expect people to pander to you. Know your role, know your class, play your best. I can't say for sure but MAYBE if you'd have said, "Brand new, is it okay if I watch the CS?" You'd have gotten different results. Instead you choose to barely communicate, rage because you barely communicated and then communicated too much and got yourself and almost your tank dead with it.

To everyone else: MMO's are what they are, ther's mixes of good and bad people and somedays you're the good guy and somedays you're the bad. It's the human condition and in some cases the way the game plays out brings out a lot more bad than good. To those perfect saints out there who never buckle, never bend, never become that 'bad guy'. My hat's off to you, m'self I tend to think I'm alright all around. I have a fair sized FC, plenty of friends on the friend list and more oft then not am trying to preach positivity over the rampant negativity this game can cultivate. Does someone like the OP bring out the 'bad' in me, yeah I guess so. I worked for every kill, raid, primal, etc etc. I didn't go into anything when I was new with any sense of entitlement. I had to earn my spot in my group be it DF or otherwise. The whole "i'm new" as an argument to do poorly and then rage on others is just not going to fly with me. If it flies with you, well..you guys should definitely get on each others friend lists.

Thank you for advice, I have my worst experience in NA\EU data center not in masamune.
In here English community are thin, so we are helping each other and welcome new players.

No, healers don't res dead weights because it's risky. Especially for WHM because once you run out of mana on WHM, there's not much you can do other than just constantly spam Cure 1 on the MT.. That's about all you can do with the base mana regen. Usually if I see a healer that dies more than twice in combat, or I know that their healing output isn't going to be much, I'd just rather heal the party solo than risk burning out on my mana.

You should ask other healers around you what they do, it's actually a pretty common thing to skip res on healers and save the mana for the unexpected, you have to adapt according to the situation.

I must be extremely lucky when I run content because I have yet to see abusive behavior from other players or to me. Maybe thats why I don't win the Cactpot all my luck goes to the DF groups. Every time I run an instance and I say I'm new to it, everyone has always been more than helpful. I have yet to see this "toxic" behavior. Maybe I don't run enough high end content to see it, I'm just your everyday average Joe type player.

Maybe some people have just been playing too long. Sitting in the basement surrounded by empty pizza boxes afraid to stand because it may dislodge a blood clot from sitting to long, who knows. People get this dungeon/content grinding in their head and forget what really matters. I just haven't found them yet.

Contrary to popular belief, "your post was rude" is not what "ad hominem" means.

"Humans are innately selfish" is an argument, and "I and many other humans don't act innately selfishly" is a valid counterargument.

(It is also worth noting that 'the way humans are' is malleable and a result of, y'know, our environment.)
