The dps was needed at the time, you were not. That makes me seem mean and I acknowledge that. Still I stand by it, prioritizing things is a healers job.Hah, you're funny, and I was being nice and not naming any names, but alrighty, here I go: 1) You forgot to mention that I said I was new at the beginning. Sorry that a newer player expected that when he explained he was new he'd be allowed to watch a 20-30 second cut-scene without having to also miss the fight. 2) The inn journal is not so players can skip cut-scenes to appease elitist jerks, it's to come back to and re-watch what you did in the past. It's something extra, for fun (which is awesome of SE btw). 3) You revived a DPS over another healer who had been dead longer than that DPS had been. Don't try and tell me that you weren't being spiteful.
Either way, this is the last I comment on it because frankly, it really pisses me off.
From not being in an FC, to not having enough members online, available, or even interested whenever a dungeon run is blocking someone's progress on the storyline, there are many reasonable reasons why a FC isn't always an option. And when people are complaining about 30+ minute queue times in a cross-server Duty Finder, I think it's actually pretty unreasonable to expect someone to catch a little luck in the party finder in any sane amount of time. You're on Balmung, which I think we can agree is quite a bit more populated than Faerie (where the original poster is from).
If the bonus tomestone reward is not there to encourage you to be patient/understanding/helpful to a first-timer in a given dungeon, what exactly do you think it's for?
Maybe Square should change it so that, going forward, the new player should get to decide at the end of the run whether or not his group should receive that tomestone bonus or not.
I agree with this. In the couple of dungeon HM I was in, players would just start fighting without me and other new players. Even the healer didn't resurrect us but did with well geared characters and they were getting our bonus....if you're interested in the story enough to watch the cutscenes (and some players actually are interested in it) then there's really no comparison to seeing a cutscene during the adventure as was intended versus watching it after in an inn when the surrounding context is missing.
Honestly, I wish Square would just remove the ability to skip cutscenes whenever a first-time viewer was in the group. Everyone else is getting a tomestone bonus because of the new person anyway - they should be able to stomach some cutscenes in return.
Are you honestly having difficulty understanding why a first-timer would want to watch the cutscene AND participate in the fight?
Gyson party with me D=!!!!I got my zen weapon now xD.
You mention the sold bonus like it's relevant. To many maybe it is, it's meaningless to me. Nothing you say has changed a thing. Duty Finder isn't the place to go cut scene viewing. You can't simply tell folks queuing to farm every time to hold up. Party finder, friends list, fc, all better options. Your server isn't that empty.
The only thing se should change is that they should stop putting cut scenes in things like that. Attach them to quests before or after.
I love the people who say that the DF is only for one type of people. "Party finder, friends list, fc, all better options." counts for people who plan on just farming, too. Don't trot out that argument like only one side has the ability to use it.
Fair enough. But if you go into a df and expect 7 others to stop or slow on something you're likely going to have a bad time. Simple fact of it. In ops case, a party finder, fc, or friends list would've been better. He went df, he ran the risk of missing the fight while he watched scenes, that's on him. New doesn't mean entitled. When literally all 7 of the rest vote no, that's the way the cookie crumbles. You opted to roll the dice.
hmm im trying to remember a run wich you farm and is cutscene heavy wich a endgame player would farm. if you run praetorum or castrum youre bound to have a newbie in it when you queue up for those runs you should be well aware of that.
hmm... isn't this the same lalafell that was complaining about never getting commendations in instances?
suspicious...
Anyways I agree with what someone said, as a healer I too will leave the other healer dead if they keep dying, the rez is almost 800 MP and having to do that constantly is not gonna help any fight. Of course that goes for any other jobs as well not just the healers. Better to keep people who stay alive than the ones that will keep dying. :/
In this case, battle at the big keep. 7 folks for a card and a new guy.
