This is often how I see new players treated in FFXIV:

Hah, here's the thing folks. This lovely lalafell was in that party with me and others. During his little pity party he fails to mention that 1: he didn't ask for folks to wait. So when we pulled he went on a rampage abotu how he's new and people need to respect that, etc etc etc. Then he complained that we wouldn't let him watch the cut scene. Nobody stopped him, we were just guna do Gilgamesh without him while he did that. As for not raising him, it was near the end of the fight and we didn't need his heals.

So..sorry in this case the other 7 folks shouldn't have to wait for you because you're new. Watch the scene, nobody was stopping you. Come back again and do the fight if you want and you can in fact watch the scenes in your inn room later too. You can't go into a duty finder and expect folks to sit idle for you, get a party, get friends, use party finder or get a better FC for that. Duty finder, as harsh as it is to say, is to get the duty done.

Sorry that a newer player expected that when he explained he was new he'd be allowed to watch a 20-30 second cut-scene without having to also miss the fight. 2) The inn journal is not so players can skip cut-scenes to appease elitist jerks, it's to come back to and re-watch what you did in the past. It's something extra, for fun (which is awesome of SE btw). 3) You revived a DPS over another healer who had been dead longer than that DPS had been. Don't try and tell me that you weren't being spiteful. And I at least can admit that I didn't handle myself correctly. You on the other hand...

Either way, this is the last I comment on it because frankly, it really pisses me off.

You can't go into a duty finder and expect folks to not want to watch cut scenes or participate in the fight. Likewise, you can't expect everyone to know the fight the moment they zone in. If that is what you are looking for - Get a party, get friends, use party finder, or get a better FC.
Duty Finder is what new players are directed toward when they need to get fights/dungeons done.

The dps was needed at the time, you were not. That makes me seem mean and I acknowledge that. Still I stand by it, prioritizing things is a healers job.

Take it from me, since you dont seem too knowledgable about a healers job. Your decision is one based on arrogance. The second healer is your backup at the very least. What if you were to die? What if you were low on mana? Ressing a dps over a healer in anything (but coil, depending) is completely stupid.

In this case, battle at the big keep. 7 folks for a card and a new guy.

The community is only toxic because we're human. There are easy ways to make things better. Don't attache cut scenes to runs, put them outside. Don't force folks to rng grind things to the point they hate being there. these are things se should adress. The rest is just humans being human.

Considering every single response of yours attests to having a poor attititude...I would say my conclusions were accurate enough.

Well, m'self and 6 others are going to disagree with you. the OP lied about what he did By his own admission, wouldn't even claim it was himuntil I called him out for it, again by his own admission. Yeah, I have a bad attitude. I don't like people who feel entiteled. Being new doesn't make you special. Speak up and get help, earn your place dont ride on the backs of others and get mad when they won't hold your hand the whole way.

Fair enough. But if you go into a df and expect 7 others to stop or slow on something you're likely going to have a bad time. Simple fact of it. In ops case, a party finder, fc, or friends list would've been better. He went df, he ran the risk of missing the fight while he watched scenes, that's on him. New doesn't mean entitled. When literally all 7 of the rest vote no, that's the way the cookie crumbles. You opted to roll the dice.
