I joined a couple months ago and was mortified that I wasn't able to obtain this amazing mask. However, I now see it is available as a Chocobo racing reward and desperately want it.

I've looked online a bit and the guides to racing are confusing. Apparently, I need to obtain a level 9 pedigree Chocobo to get the mask.

The guides seem to state that one gains pedigree by breeding chocobos... But that option seems to be unavailable to me right now. Are there any tips from the pros of this mini game that may lead to the mask?
